In the year of 2015, during my time when I was at secondary school, SMKA Tun Ahmadshah, I was given the opportunity to participate in one of the most historical events that was held within the school itself which was planting flower trees. In conjunction to acquire a tittle in The Malaysian Books of Record, my school had aimed to plant Bougainvillea in a massive scale of 6000 in total but rather in a unique way. Instead of using clay-made pots, we reused plastic water bottles that could be found from anywhere such as at the sides of the road, the dustbins, the drainage, and others as the flowerpot. Initially, we were divided into small groups consisting of five persons per group to execute all the planting jobs and we need to plant at least 50 flowerpots of Bougainvillea by the end of the day. Since Bougainvillea’s petals could exhibit a wide spectrum of colors on it, surely enough it could be an excellent decoration element for the school areas. Therefore, all flowerpots that contained Bougainvillea were distributed to various places such as along the pathway around the school to embellish and beautify the surrounding.

Personally, this event has given me a lot of positive impacts throughout my life. From that day on, I started to appreciate nature even more. It made me realized that the acts toward the preservation of nature must be done by every single person regardless of age, gender, and races. By doing that, we can effectively save the earth from any types of pollution. From the event, since we reused the plastic water bottles as the flowerpot, we have actually prevented the bottles from being disposed in an irresponsible manner that could end up blocking the drainage’s waterflow and eventually causing a flash flood. Besides that, the event also has taught me to be a person that could handle his responsibility well. When we were planting the Bougainvillea, we need to have a good teamwork so that all the things could be done without mistakes and problems. So, each of us need to contribute an equal amount of effort so that it would not cause any trouble to other members of the group. Consequently, whenever I was proposed to do a task, I would do it with all my might and ensure it was done with minimal or no flaws. Apart from that, realizing The Greatness and The Almightiness of Allah is one of the life-changing impacts that I gained from the event. During the process of plantation, I got the chance to closely observe the pattern and combination of colors at each flower. To my surprise, each of them has their own respective pattern and colors. None of them were similar. This was the time I actually realize that how powerful of Allah, The Creator of the universe, that can create the same species of flower but with different traits for each of them. Also, to think that the unlimited sources of oxygen that we breath in can also be produced by this plant really does strengthen my faith towards Allah.

In conclusion, just from a single event that merely focusing on an environmental activity such as planting flowers, we can attain numerous impacts that will not solely benefit the environment itself but also in other critical aspects such as the social and others as well. Hence, it is crucial for us to engage ourselves with such beneficial activities so that we could be among the contributors of the sustainable development of our beloved country.
