Although I learned about religion in the article, arts and achievements also connects to it. In the Religious Rituals section, it talks about what the king did in a foundation ritual (for a temple). The king first hammered two posts to determine the spot of the temple. Then a hole is dug to the water level to make sure the foundation is sturdy enough. Bricks are molded at the four corners, the foundation is filled with sand, plaques are presented and chalk is sprinkled on a model temple for purification. At the end the temple is delivered to the god it will house. Temples are one of the Egyptians greatest achievements, and they are beautiful as well. These temples demonstrate both art and achievement.

I learned that the priests had to bathe in a holy lake that belonged to the temple twice in the day and twice at night to be considered pure. If the landscape had not provided the lake the priests would not be considered pure. The priests also had to rinse their mouths out with a solution made from salt that came from dried lake beds and water. Without the lake beds and a water source, the priests would also not have been considered pure.

I learned about religion in the article I read, so naturally it fits in with religion. In the article, it talked about how the people told myths about their gods. The Egyptians were polytheistic, which means they believed in many gods. The Egyptians wouldn't have told these stories if they had not believed in the gods they told stories about.

I learned that the king leaves his palace to go do foundation rituals. This shows that the king had a palace, so he was Egypt's leader. The king had important jobs, such as deciding the foundation for new temples. The king was in charge of Egypt and was the center of the politics. The fact that they had a king shows that Egypt's government was a monarchy, which also relates to politics.

I learned that there was a variety of events that took place in the temple, including foundation rituals, daily rituals, and festivals. This relates to economics because the king or person in charge of the wealth of Ancient Egypt put a lot of money and resources into building temples. Festivals also seemed to be important to the Ancient Egyptians, so their money and resources also went to those. The money and resources were used mostly for religious purposes.

The article I read also relates to social structure. The priests were in charge of annointing, clothing, feeding, and doing physical jobs for a god. This fact shows that the priests were pretty high on the social structure pyramid. The king also had a palace, which means that he was the highest on the social structure pyramid.
