I think that theory #2 is right. Theory #2 is explaining exactly what evolution is. The taller ones will be more likely to survive because they can reach the trees better. The ones with shorter necks will have a harder time surviving. Theory #1 is wrong because if you stretch your neck it doesn't become longer. That just doesn't make sense.

I think its theory 2 because if the giraffes need to eat from super tall trees, the ones with shorter necks would die off. That would mean that the taller giraffes would have more babies and effectively remove the short necked giraffes from the population.

I think theory 2 is correct because generation by generation, longer necks survived more longer, because they were able to get food more easier than short necks. Which increased the population of long necks.

It would make more sense for theory 2 to be true because if an giraffe stretched it's neck out over the course of it's lifetime, the stretched neck would be an acquired trait and would not be passed on. However, if certain giraffes were taller than the others and could reach the trees while others couldn't, they would survive and be more likely to pass on genes to their offspring.

I believe theory two is correct because of the rules of inherited traits and Darwin's theory of evolution. His theory states that those of a species that are better genetically equipped to live and survive in their environment will be able to live long and healthily enough to pass on their traits to their offspring therefore continuing their specific genetic code. This means that those who didn't have long necks to reach food would not be alive or healthy enough to pass off their short necked traits to their children.
