Some of the characteristics can be split into two parts male and female.
Female: submissive, ment to suffer in silence, obedient, the cook, and the child barer and raiser. 
Male: leader, still sinful even if not, and dominant. 
 Others can be separated by things, like what they can do. 
What they can do: work, pray, clean, cook, and be prude.

John Winthrop was a large advertiser of Puritanism, he prosecuted Anne Hutchinson because she was having secret meetings discussing biblical scripture.
