         <description><![CDATA[<div>Puritanism is a strict following of the Bible and the expulsion of things such as anything “sinful”, drinking, swearing, and gambling to name a few.<br>Some of the characteristics can be split into two parts male and female.<br>Female: submissive, ment to suffer in silence, obedient, the cook, and the child barer and raiser.&nbsp;<br>Male: leader, still sinful even if not, and dominant.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Others can be separated by things, like what they can do.&nbsp;<br>What they can do: work, pray, clean, cook, and be prude.<br>What they cannot do: gamble, dress provocatively, drink, pray to antother religion, not prey at all, and swear. -alexandra</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Being a Puritan is being pure, exempt of any sins or anything remotely considered sinful; eg. activities, endulgences, vocabulary. John Winthrop was a large advertiser of Puritanism, he prosecuted Anne Hutchinson because she was having secret meetings discussing biblical scripture. This was thought of as un-pure be Winthrop so he vowed to remove Hutchinson of the society.</div>]]></description>
