This opened up more land for cotton production and thus fueled the growth of slavery and the domestic slave trade. So this act led to the expansion of slavery into the territory of the U.S. This led to the civil war because there were more room and more things to use slaves for so this expanded slavery.&nbsp;The north would not be ok with this.</div>]]></description>
