It is a very well written book. I will tell you a little bit about it. First Yingtoa moves to America from China and he does not fit in at all. Second he meets Mathew at school and they become very good friends. Then Mathew starts taking violin lessons from Yingtoa's oldest brother. Yingtoa also plays violin but he is not very good at it. He wishes his Dad would let him play base ball. at the yang family's recital Mathew secretly takes YIngtoa's place because he is worried he would ruin the whole recital. After Yingtoa's Dad found out, he let Yingtoa play base ball instead of violin.
