The Russian Revolutions of 1917 occurred in February and October. In World War 1, Russia went through a horrible struggle with an overwhelming amount of casualties, food shortages, abuse of power by the government and a failing government. People were losing trust in the government and the Tsar (Royal Family). More factors leading up to the first revolution was government corruption and inefficiency, the dissolution of Duma, and the Russian Parliament. The country was no longer a match for other countries. Changes should have been made such as setting up a court with the power to investigate corruption, or simply to just let the people of Russia see how the money is spent. The first Russian Revolution was the February Revolution of 1917. The people of Petrograd, food shortages, and their terrible loses in World War One shaped the Revolution. They sought to overthrow the Tsar/Czar.Then the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, came into play. They were part of the government and thought Russia should be communist. Bread shortages and food were also a major issue in the Russian revoulution and people were starving to death because of it. Also there were poor working conditions and low pay .
