Hello everybody my name is Danielle Mckeown. I am 26 years old and I was born in Toronto Ontario. I now live in Brampton with my boyfriend and his family. I am really looking forward to this program and this course. I was really thinking hard about this question about what my favorite childhood toy was, and come to think of it, I would have to say trolls. They were these little trolls with crazy hair in different colors. I had tons of them that my grandparents would always buy me. I'm not exactly sure why I loved them, I just remember they were all special in their own way. Some things I am really interested in learning and curious about is really finding out who I am, and how this program is going to shape my life for the future. All I can say is that I'm super excited for this journey.

Hey everyone! My name is Kurtis and I am 32 years old. I have a 1 year old boy named Asher, but the real baby around here is our dog, Dexter! Some hobbies I enjoy include working out, cooking, and playing guitar. I am truly an open book and always open for communication with anyone. I really enjoy deep meaningful conversation.

My life up to this point has been quite the journey full of many ups and downs. I earned a full scholarship for baseball to Iowa when I was 18 years old. Fast forward some years and I eventually opened up a baseball training facility but lost the business in 2020 due to covid after 2 very successful years. The experiences I gained from this business and working with youth every day will help me become the successful social service worker I hope to be one day. I would love to continue working with youth as an SSW as I can appreciate now how much of an impact a positive role model has on such young individuals. I would also love to work in the field of mental health and addictions as I believe my life experiences have shaped me into somebody who can help those who struggle to help themselves.

Something I would like to learn about in this program is a better understanding and appreciation for other social groups that I may not have much experience in, such as the LGBTQ community. I am eager and open to learning new things!

Well this picture has almost everyone that is most imporant to me. My partner who has been my rock through a lot of hardship. My two nephews whom have made me the proudest Auntie. Oh and then my fur nephews lol. Family is everything to me! I am 38 starting a new journey. I have recently met a group of SSW's who inspired me to get into this profession. I've always loved working with people, and helping those in need. I'm so excited to learn all that I can and then some. As i have mentioned in previous intro's I want to teach and expel the stigma around Mental Health. I would like to get involved with woman in the community. But who knows where I will land. I like to live one day at a time.

Oh my favorite toy growing up was my tricycle. Loved cleaning it parking it like I was driving. I was very proud of it and always showed it off while riding it.

I graduated from Social Service Worker's program in June 13. 2023 and started working as Educational Assistant at Peel District School board. I lives in Mississauga. I am married and blessed with Children and grand children. I love helping people: Children, youth and adult, especially the seniors. I work as Care Partner with Holland Christian Homes where I am privileging providing direct care with the neighbourhood.
