Technology empowers students learning because they can adjust to their own pace. Students who need extra time can spend more time going over practices until they fully understand, while a student who needs less support can work ahead.

I think that technology gives students a lot of academic freedom. Often times with online lessons, students can work at a pace that is most comfortable for them. If certain students are learning the material more quickly than others, they can work faster and not be stuck waiting for others to catch up. If some students work more slowly, they can take more time to practice and catch up on what they are missing/ struggling in.

I think that technology really empowers students to control their own learning because they can access it anywhere. This can mean that they can get caught up on homework they miss. They can individual work on things they know they struggle on like looking up multiplication games if they struggle with multiplication. There are also a lot of programs that teachers can use that will tell students what they are struggling on. This makes sure that they are getting what they need and it is individually tailored to each kid.

I personally think that it doesn't really require them to control their own learning. Now, of course, there is bias in everything. But, with allowing students to develop their own thoughts through technology doesn't really require them to use their brain in the way it should. I think that it hinders the necessary skills that they need in order to be successful later on in their educational careers.
