For example, in Little Mix's music video for 'Power', from the start of the video the audience is introduced to very bright and vivid colours which reflects the upbeat and high-tempo beat of the song. A pop music video also uses a lot of close-ups heavily throughout the video as a way of promoting the artist. This again is to reach their specific younger target audience. This also links to Laura Mulvey's theory of the male gaze in which women are represented as sexual objects for the enjoyment of men and they lack importance on screen if there is also a male on screen with them. As viewers we are forced into the perspective of a heterosexual man for the performance.
