Today's Highlights: The Art of Stone Rubbings (拓印 Tà Yìn)

We embarked on a hands-on journey to discover the ancient art of Stone Rubbings (拓印 Tà Yìn), a precious form of cultural heritage used to preserve beautiful calligraphy and patterns from stone carvings.

Here’s a peek into our creative process:

1. 🖋️ Carving Our Masterpieces:

Each camper became a young artisan! They carefully designed and carved their own unique patterns or characters onto a special plate. It was wonderful to see their concentration and creativity shine through! 🎨

2. 🎨 The Magic of Rubbings:

This was the most exciting part! After carving, we learned the traditional technique of rubbing. We gently pressed ink onto our carvings and then transferred the beautiful designs onto paper. It was like magic watching the images appear! The room was filled with "Wows!" and "Look at mine!" as each unique print was revealed.

We are so proud of every camper today. They not only learned about a significant traditional art form but also experienced the joy of creating with their own hands. They have each brought home a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece of art today – a true treasure!

We had a fang-tastically fun day here at camp, filled with chills, thrills, and lots of Chinese learning! Our little ghosts and goblins dove headfirst into the spirit of Halloween. Get ready for a spellbinding update! ✨

🧛1. Creepy-Crawly Chinese Vocabulary!

We cast a learning spell and mastered some super cool Halloween words in Chinese! The kids were brilliant at pronouncing:

· 蝙蝠 (Biānfú) - Bat 🦇

· 女巫 (Nǚwū) - Witch 🧙♀️

· 南瓜 (Nánguā) - Pumpkin 🎃

· 蜘蛛 (Zhīzhū) - Spider 🕷️

We practiced these words through games and spooky songs – they're now little Chinese Halloween experts!

🧪 2. Magical Potion-Making!

Then, our campers transformed into little potion masters! Using colorful and safe ingredients, they brewed their very own "Witch's Potion" (女巫的魔药, Nǚwū de Móyào). There was so much stirring, giggling, and creative concocting! It was a wonderful, hands-on sensory activity.

💃 3. Monster Mash Party!

In the afternoon, we hosted a fabulous Halloween party! We danced to scary tunes, played "Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin," and showed off our fantastic costumes. It was a scream of a time! The energy and creativity were absolutely amazing.

We are so proud of all our campers today. They embraced the spooky fun while learning new Chinese words and expressing their creativity. It was a day full of laughter and magical memories!
