I chose this event because of its social on slavery making its impact on the civil war and John Brown wanting to end or make a difference in slavery but he quickly got stop by the local militia and U.S marines. After John Brown was killed, many southerns was scared and horrifying confirmation of their fears of slave insurrections, intensifying their resolve to protect slavery and fueling anger towards the North.
