It showed how a school that was full of violence and was run down was turned around by implementing the use of technology in the classrooms. Not only this but it associates technology with being an educational tool rather than just a "distraction". In the Digital Nation video the family from Brooklyn had a son in middle school that required him to have a laptop for his schoolwork. He said "We could argue all we want about kids needing to stay in their seat and be quiet, but I don't know of any jobs that are going to exist, that even exist now, that require kids to stay in their seats and be quiet. Kids are going to need to be fluent in technology. They're going to need to be excellent at communication. They're going to need to be problem solvers. That's just the way the world is now". This statement really stuck with me because it's so true and I've witness the benefits of using technology in my own education.

However,  many schools have found ways to block certain websites to help discourage this.
