In 1631 Thomas Williams made the first chartered transit service powered by horses and horse power

Late 19th century

By this time they had around 8,000 horses but they were unreliable horse had to be kept feed slow and they were leavening behind poop wherever they went. To get around this they started use electric cars that were said to be pollution free and they went 10-15mph

1897 is when the first subway emerges. The reason they did this is because the electric car were congested and people said it would be faster to get ontop of the train and walk where there going so in to avoid this the rapid transit commission suggested four elevated railway and tunnel around Tremont street. So on Wednesday September 1 1897 the first subway hit the light at 6:01 with its passengers

Early 20th century

On January 20th 1899 they built 7 miles of olive green elevated tracks and acquired 150 electric cars.

On Monday June 10 1901 at 5am the main elevated line opened up between Roxbury Dudley and charlstown
