- Sinuhe is a loyal servant and a royal Egyptian courtier. He serves for King Sehetepibre, the King of Egypt. When he heard the conversation about the king's death, he flee to Syria where Amunenshi, ruler of the Retjenu tribe, met him. Amunenshi admired Sinuhe's valor so he told him to marry his daughter. Sinuhe built a family and become the leader of the tribe. However, despite all these events, he still longs for his homeland and think of living out his final days in Egypt, the place where his identity was formed.

- Sinuhe flee out of Egypt because he heard a conversation about the King's assassination and with that, he was overcome with panic. He was scared to be implicated so he flees to Syria and abandon his comfortable life in Egypt.

- Sinuhe become the head of the tribe because as soon as the ruler of the tribe crossed paths with him, he was amazed by his valor. Sinuhe marries the ruler's daughter and becomes the successor of the position. Hence, the head of the tribe.

4. Describe how he was accepted by the people when he returned to his homeland.
- When Sinuhe returned to his homeland, the people accepted and welcomed him again by constructing a pyramid burial tomb for him.

- The tale of Sinuhe and the prodigal son has a similar theme or central point. Both are implying the "thought of returning and forgiveness". In the tale of Sinuhe, he returned to Egypt after he left and came back yet he was still accepted and forgiven by the people and the king. On the other hand, the prodigal son is about a son who squanders his inheritance and returns home to find that his father forgives him.  During the reign of King Amenemhat I in Egypt, there is a man who attends and serves the royalties—this man was Sinuhe. And when he fled, Sinuhe was also known to have led his own tribe. After many years, Sinuhe soon returned to Egypt where he died and was buried in a tomb for elites. Sinuhe's identity and tale is said to have been based off of a heiratic text written in a tomb of a man known as Sennutem.
 
2. Why did he flee out of Egypt?
 It was the death of King Amenemhat I that drove Sinuhe to flee. He was supposedly returning with captives from Tjemeh but hearing the king's death from messengers they met on the road, Sinuhe was struck with fear. He expected that there would be chaos once he returned and he might be involved with the death of the king, so out of fear and dread, Sinuhe fled.
 
3. How did he become the head of the tribe?
 When Sinuhe fled, he met Asiatics, and one of them was Ammunenshi, the ruler of Upper Retenu. This ruler knew Sinuhe's skills and character, and so Sinuhe was taken into his tribe in Retenu. Sinuhe then married the ruler's eldest daughter and becomes the head of a tribe in Retenu. As the head, Sinuhe completed his tasks and had multiple children with his wife.
 
4. Describe how he was accepted by the people when he returned to his homeland?
 With the letter from King Senusert I (son of the late king) that stated a request for Sinuhe to come back to Egypt, and a promise of making him an Egyptian elite with a funeral procession on the day of his burial, Sinuhe returned. Once Sinuhe arrived at the palace, he was treated by the people as if was not a servant, and instead a man who shall reside in the house of a prince, given all the luxuries and the riches, and clothed with the finest linens. Craftsmen rebuilt a house, and masons built a stone pyramid and a tomb for Sinuhe. These acts—although an order from the king—showed the people's acceptance of Sinuhe to be back in Egypt.
 
5. Relate this tale to the Prodigal Son.
 With how the Tale of Sinuhe revolved around Sinuhe's fleeing and returning home, this part of the tale has a similarity with that in the Prodigal Son.             Sinuhe (flourished 20th century BCE), was a protagonist of a famous literary history set in Egypt during the early 12th dynasty (1938-C 1956 BCE) who migrated to Syria. His accounts provides insight into the political and social institution of the time. Sinuhe was a harem administrator who worked for Amenemhet l’s queen. At first, Sinuhe is marked by hesitancy, ambiguity, and anxiety but because of missing his home, he encouraged himself to stand until great things happens as he got home. 

2. Why did he flee out of Egypt? 
            Sinuhe was a harem administrator who worked for Amenemhet l’s queen, while on expedition to Libya, he learned of the king’s assassination (1908 BCE) and left possibly out of fear or collusion because he overheard a conversation recounting the death of the king Amenemhet l. Fearing that he would be accused, he departed Egypt and settled in Syria, where he started a family. 

3. How did he become head of the tribe?
            He meets the head of an Asiatic tribe known as The Renetu. Sinuhe was brought in, and later marry the leader’s eldest daughter, which led him to become the leader of his own tribe within The Renetu. He also defended his father in law’s territory and entertained emissaries traveling to and from Egypt. 

4. Described how he was accepted by the people when he returned to his homeland?
            He was approached by a warrior who was sent to kill him and accepts duel with him. He won and consider going back home. He wrote a letter to the new king asking for forgiveness and also a permission to return Egypt and build a relationship again with the people there. The king forgave him with all his offenses and welcomed him with a great presents. He was cordially received by the Pharaoh, who grants him a good and proper burial in his own land. 

5. In what way did the story relate to the prodigal son?
            Both of the story had this theme and sense of being home. Even though you lived far and already settled – hiding from the possible consequences you thought would come-, there is still a part of you that is looking forward to going back home. Forgiveness is the key to everything. The place where one used to lived are obviously the place where one’s heart belong.

-The tale of Sinuhe is a beautiful story about the wandering, restless heart. It's about a man who has everything—wealth, power and prestige—and yet he feels like he has nothing. And so he leaves it all behind and sets out on a journey to find himself. In my opinion, this story has many similarities with that of the prodigal son in the Bible. The prodigal son was also rich and powerful, but his heart was not at peace with him. He left home because he was unhappy with his life there—he didn't feel like he belonged among his people or that they loved him as much as they should have. In both stories, we see how one thing can change everything: in one case it is the birth of a child (Christianity) or in another case it is simple boredom (mythology). Both men had everything they could ever need except for peace of mind; they just couldn't find it within themselves. And so they set out on journeys that would bring them closer to their goal: happiness and contentment with where they were at that moment in time.

• The tale of Sinuhe and the story of the prodigal son is somewhat alike because the leading characters in both stories has departed away from their homes. However, at the end of the day, they found their way back to their native lands. They were accepted, forgiven and embraced once again.

He was accepted like nothing happened. Egypt lavishly gifted Sinuhe, notably the late King Amenemhat I's son. The pharaoh is the one who is invited Sinuhe to return to Egypt. The King Senusret I forgave him and ordered a fine tomb built for Sinuhe. 
 
5. Relate this tale to the prodigal son.
They have the same plot wherein the main character has done something bad and in the end the person they’ve done something awful will accept them normally. Somewhat the ‘return’ is similar. Sinuhe return to his native land. This is comparable to the prodigal son returning to his father who forgave him despite the fact the he had nothing at the time. Pharaoh permitted Sinuhe to return to his land and given an honorable reception.

- Sinuhe is treated the same way around and was being accepted by the people especially the King Senwosret to the extent that he is still given the comfortable accommodations and noble like style of burial in the time of his death even though he failed to fulfill his duty as a citizen of their land.

-The two story talks about patriotism in a way that both characters in the story showed love in their land when they return to their homeland after escaping. In the tale of sinuhe, he himself flee out of his native land and same goes in the story of the prodigal son whom also escape from his own place and stayed in another place over the years. Then, after years of being away they both have realized of going back to their home land for good. Sinuhe reared a family and became a patriarch in that land.

After years of living a prosperous life as a patriarch in his own land, he decides to return to Egypt for burial as he nears the end of his life. So Sinuhe wrote to King Sesostris, who invited Sinuhe to return to Egypt, which Sinuhe eagerly accepted. The king pardoned him for his real or imagined crimes and lavishly rewarded him. Sinuhe remarried in his country, and the pharaoh had a beautiful tomb made for him.

The correlation between the Tale of Sinuhe and the Prodigal Son stems from the fact that both protagonists in their respective tales encountered the same faith. They both leave their homes to make a name for themselves, with the only difference being that Sinuhe was able to successfully carve out a prosperous life on his own. However, at the end of both tales, the protagonists find themselves returning to their homeland and being accepted wholeheartedly and without judgment. Sinuhe then remarried in his native land, and the pharaoh had a beautiful tomb constructed for him in order to ensure that he would be buried properly in his home country.

1. The main character of a story set in the early 12th dynasty (1938–c. 1756 bce), Sinuhe (flourished 20th century bce), escaped Egypt and settled in Syria. His tale provides details on the political and social climate at the time. Sinuhe was a member of the harem that his queen kept for Amenemhet I.

Sinuhe was the main character of the story and  was a royal Egyptian courtier who lives close to and serves King Sehetepibre and members of the royal family.

 Sinuhe flee out of Egypt when he heard a news from a messenger about the king's death that made him panicked. He hides between two bushes until the messenger has gone away. Then Sinuhe sets out into the desert, abandoning his comfortable life in Egypt without apparent reason.

3. How did he become the head of the tribe? 

During the early years of Sinuhe's exile, he runs into a man who is a leader of an Asiatic tribe called the Renetu. He is taken in and Sinuhe marries the leader's eldest daughter and becomes a leader of his own tribe within the Renetu.

Based on my readings, the character of Sinuhe in the Egyptian Tale introduced himself as a protagonist of the story, a servant and attendant of King Amenemhat I, who was the first king of the 12th Dynasty in Egypt. Other citings in his life were he ran from Egypt and settled in Syria; he happened to run a tribe, and his fidelity was vivid in the story. 

2. Why did he flee out of Egypt?
Sinuhe was urged to flee from Egypt because of the instance where he overhears a scheme to assassinate Pharaoh Amenemhet I. Out of fear of being linked to the plot, he fled Egypt and made his home in Syria, where he raised a family.

3. How did he become the head of the tribe?
In the early years of his exile, Sinuhe meets a man who is the head of the Renetu, an Asian tribe. Sinuhe is adopted, marries the leader's eldest daughter, and rises to become the chief of his own Renetu tribe. He fulfilled the assignments given to him by the leader after being selected as a military commander. Battles, stealing cattle, and kidnapping prisoners were a few of these. Sinuhe had a large family and brought them up till they were adults.

4. Describe how he was accepted by the people when he returned to his homeland? 
Senusert I, the Egyptian ruler, wrote to Sinuhe asking him to return to Egypt again to meet with the monarch. When Sinuhe agrees to meet with the king, he departs from his family. Sinuhe visits the king upon his return to Egypt and strolls across the city. He was given a place to sleep and clean up by the king, who was happy to see him. Likewise, he was lavished with amenities and dressed in the best linens. For Sinuhe, workers reconstructed his home and tomb. We start to see it as a gesture of welcome for Sinuhe by the people. The king pardoned Sinuhe for leaving his duty and offered him the chance to join the Egyptian elite.

The interconnection of The Tale of Sinuhe to The Prodigal Son is the atmosphere of 'reconciliation.' •This happened after he overheard a conversation relaying the King's assassination. And because of this, he fled due to the fear that Egypt would face uncertainty after the King's death; also, he may have been put in danger.

3. How did he become the head of the tribe?
•Sinuhe first encounters the Renetu tribe leader in the early years of his exile. In that time, he meets Amunenshi, a Palestinian prince, who invites Sinuhe to live with him in Retjenu. The Renetu are an Asian tribe. Sinuhe, who appears to be pleased with the act of loyalty of Sinuhe, provides him with a good life in Retjenu, and lets him marry his eldest daughter, and rises to prominence as the head of his own Renetu clan.

4. Describe how he was accepted by the people when he returned to his homeland? 
•Over decades, Sinuhe establishes himself as a hero in Retjenu, where he lives a life of abundance and gains respect. As he aged, he began to long to go back home to Egypt. The King of Egypt forgave him and even granted him gifts; a place to sleep, a place to clean up, and a place to be shaven. As well, he is given the opportunity to become a part of the Egyptian elite and live out his life in Egypt and is buried in a tomb for the elite class.

•The tale of Sinuhe is likened to the parable of the Prodigal Son, since both show emphasis on the main character of the story and their exile away from home. But, eventually, the longing-ness for their home leads them back to their native land. The moment he fled, he met the ruler of Upper Retenu. He became one of them, sinuhe marries the daughter of the ruler, he then eventually become the head of the tribe. Sinuhe were able to fulfill all his responsibilities as the head of the tribe, a husband and a father to his children.

Sinuhe received a letter from King Senusert I, requesting him to return to Egypt. The moment he stepped on the palace, he was treated very well by the people and might as well as the king. Workers built his home and his tomb. Those are proof of him(sinuhe) being accepted back in Egypt.

In the tale of sinuhe, the main character fled out of Egypt, same goes with the tale prodigal son, it has also the emphasis of leaving when the younger son left.
