         <description><![CDATA[<p>Defining physical change: </p><p>-Period of great physical growth, such as, muscular and nerve system development, learns to raise there head, turn and roll over, to focus their eyes, crawl, stand and walk with assistance</p><p><br/></p><p>Defining cognitive development: </p><p>-Learns to copy and imitate others in their environment, recognizes familiar sounds, looks and smells. They develop object permanence.</p><p><br/></p><p>Erickson stage of development: </p><p>-Trust = Dependency on caregivers for survival, love, emotional survival Vs. Mistrust = Not enough care</p><p><br/></p><p>Consequences to failing to meet the desired outcome of life stage: </p><p>- If an infant is not properly cared for or is neglected by its caregivers, it can lead to a strong feeling of mistrust with, not just its caregivers but to all adults and will most likely have mistrust towards all adults throughout its life.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Defining physical change: </p><p>-Tremendous physical growth with their weight, height, teeth. They are in constant motion. Toddlers learn to navigate stairs, how to kick a ball, etc.</p><p><br/></p><p>Defining cognitive development: </p><p>- Parental Dependency,  learns independence. They learn a baseline understanding of the world around them, and they learn to better process and understand information.</p><p> </p><p>Erickson stage of development: </p><p>-Autonomy/confidence = Ability to care for themselves with encouragement, explore, gain independence skills Vs. Doubt/Shame = Overprotection or unrealistic expectations   </p><p><br/></p><p>Consequences to failing to meet the desired outcome of life stage: </p><p>-If not treated with proper care and protection, toddlers will learn to doubt themselves and they will lose motivation in life and accomplishments in life.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Defining physical change: </p><p>- Body proportions change, Start of running, jumping, climbing, throwing, kicking, etc.</p><p><br/></p><p>Defining cognitive development: </p><p>- Speaking sentences, understanding simple speech. Begins to think ahead of things; planning ahead. They can often anticipate consequences of their actions.</p><p><br/></p><p>Erickson stage of development: </p><p>- Initiative = Furthering confidence to initiate their own learning, seeking out new experiences/knowledge to understand new activities Vs. Guilt = Constantly restricting, criticizing, scolding them for their curiosity lowers their hunger for learning new things</p><p><br/></p><p>Consequences to failing to meet the desired outcome of life stage: </p><p>- The more restrictions put on a preschooler, the less inclined they will become to learn and discover new things/ideas etc. They will lose motivation for things that they loved.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Defining physical change: </p><p>- Beginning of puberty, permanent teeth, height increases, increases climbing, running, jumping, etc.</p><p><br></p><p>Defining cognitive development: </p><p>- Logical thinking, viewing different perspectives, increased attention span, problem solve, morals</p><p><br></p><p>Erickson stage of development: </p><p>- Inferiority/ Lack of self-worth = Successful completion of tasks and seek pleasure in recognition/acknowledgement; also seek acceptance of peers; those not accepted by peers /not meeting expectation</p><p><br></p><p>Consequences to failing to meet the desired outcome of life stage: </p><p>-If they do not feel as though they are being recognized for their accomplishments or accepted by their peers, they will feel a lack of self-worth. They will most likely continue on with that mindset into adulthood.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Defining physical change: </p><p>- Body odor, growth spurt, skin changes. females will see more body fat and breast growth. Males will see growth of hair on their face and other places. </p><p><br/></p><p>Defining cognitive development: </p><p>- Mood swings due to hormonal changes, Abstract thinking, ability to form new ideas and questions. They develop formal logical operations. </p><p><br/></p><p>Erickson stage of development: </p><p>- Identity = Tremendous changes in the physical body are intriguing, but also confusing. Changes and rebellion. Vs. Role Confusion = Unable to find Identity lack sense of who they are.</p><p><br/></p><p>Consequences to failing to meet the desired outcome of life stage: </p><p>-If they fail to find their identity, they will lose their sense of self and experience role confusion. There are higher chances of rebellion in those who cannot find themselves.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Defining physical change: </p><p>- The time of peak physical function, loss of moisture on skin, weight gaining issues, visual and auditory senses decline.</p><p><br/></p><p>Defining cognitive development: </p><p>- Optimal cognitive functioning. Learns to balance opposing views. They will also balance practicality with social and creative considerations. </p><p><br/></p><p>Erickson stage of development: </p><p>- Intimacy = Complete transition of dependency to independency. Including contributing to society, relationships, having children, making a career. Vs. Lack of commitment = Loneliness.</p><p><br/></p><p>Consequences to failing to meet the desired outcome of life stage: </p><p>-Without the intimate relationships and contributions to society, they will start to feel a lack of commitment. There is an increased chance of no contributions to society and increased loneliness. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Defining physical change: </p><p>- Decline in physical ability, bone and muscle mass decreases, as well as strength and endurance. wrinkles appear. Physical health becomes a concern. Motor sensory skills diminish </p><p><br/></p><p>Defining cognitive development: </p><p>- Still strong: problem solving, memory remains the same and creativity may improve. </p><p><br/></p><p>Erickson stage of development: </p><p>- Generativity = Shift in concern to oneself to friends, family, and the community. They take time to contribute value. self-reflection of accomplishments and or their impact. Vs. Stagnation = Self-reflection may show unmet goals , low level of contribution to society. Self absorption; obsession with health concerns. </p><p><br/></p><p>Consequences to failing to meet the desired outcome of life stage: </p><p>-If their self-reflection shows them unpleasant results, there is a high chance that they can feel stuck in motion without personal growth or fulfillment.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Defining physical change: </p><p>- Chronic illness is more likely to appear, atrophy of reproductive organs, Tolerance of change in temperature declines, Motor sensory skills diminish. </p><p><br/></p><p>Defining cognitive development: </p><p>- Cognitive ability differs between individuals, dementia is more likely to occur. Slower process of information and increased difficulty in focusing and problem-solving.</p><p><br/></p><p>Erickson stage of development: </p><p>- Ego integrity = satisfaction with their life events. Vs. Sadness/Despair = Life seems like a series of failures and or disappointments.</p><p><br/></p><p>Consequences to failing to meet the desired outcome of life stage: </p><p>-If they cannot meet their desired outcome, they can feel immense sadness, shame and doubt. They will feel unsatisfied with their life events. </p>]]></description>
