All plants are available year round.
Cacti: Cacti have shallow roots, fixed spines, and thick stems. Chop it down with a machete.
Acorns: The scrub oak produces small striped acorns. The tree is only about 3 feet high and has bowl shaped leaves to collect water. All we have to do to harvest is pick them
Leaves: The blue oak produces deciduous leaves which can be eaten like a salad. To harvest just pick and eat.
Acorns: The blue oak also produces acorns that have a sweet kernel in the middle.
We can also propagate the blue oak by taking the acorn seeds and planting them.

All animals are available year round.
Coyote: The coyote will either adapt by hunting small prey or hunting larger pray but only in groups. To capture we can make animal traps and cover them with leaves to disguise them.
Jackrabbit:The jackrabbit is a very small and fast hare that has very large ears so it can hear predators approaching. We can use the same traps for the coyotes only just smaller. We can also take our machete and carve spears and throw them.
Mule Deer: The mule deer is a deer very similar to the white tail that is seen in Arkansas. The only difference is that a mule deer has larger ears. We can take the spears that we made from the machete and the branches to kill the mule deer.
Honey Bee: Honey bees produces honey so we can just find a hive. We take the smoke from the fire and calm them down. Then we can harvest the honey.

Because both our pot and machete are metal if we strike them together we could create a spark and start a fire. It also helps that the Sun is very hot.

Southern Pacific Rattlesnake: They are dark brown to greenish brown to gray and have paired fangs that unfold from the root of their mouths. They corner or ambush their prey and their bite can cause bruising, swelling, and a lot of pain.
Mountain Lion: They have powerful jaws, pointed canine teeth, and sharp, retractable claws. They're very fast hunters and hunt during the day and night. They're meat-eaters so could potentially attack us.
Poison Oak: It grows as a climbing vine with roots that adhere to trunks of oaks and sycamores. The touch of it to skin becomes very painful and causes a complicated delayed allergic reaction by the body's immune system.
Fire: It is very common for fires to start on their own because of how hot and dry the location is. They could potentially damage our shelter or our skin if we came into contact with one
