I loved the way that is shows two sides of a situation because that helped me understand more about the character and also the way that they handle there problems in the future. The book shows the journey of him and his family and also shows how bad poverty is. The little boy also has no friends so he has an imaginary friend named Crenshaw that helps him deal with his problems. So he starts to train and when he gets a personal trainer the trainer says that maybe he should start taking the Gym candy or (steroids) when he takes these pills he gets addicted to getting bigger and so now he starts to inject stuff into his body making him bigger. Also when he takes this stuff he starts to have side effects and these side effects bring him farther from his friends and farther from his family. It was told by the perspective of a young soldier and made a certain realization of what the soldiers had to go through during that time. The author just pulled you in with those details about the character that most people don"t tell in their stories, he wrote the book as something kids would want to read and get hooked on. Carl Deuker definitely is a really good author and I will continue to read his books. When the city was first built they knew how to fix it and they had all the blueprints for it too but, throughout time some idiot lost it and now they have blackouts and stuff that are scaring the people in the city. Pony and Soda are allowed to stay under Darryl's guardianship as long as they all behave themselves. The boys are greasers, a class term that refers to the young men on the East Side, the poor side of town. The greasers' rivals are the Soc s, short for Socials, who are the "West-side rich kids." The story goes on about the challenges the greasers have and the problems they are forced to overcome, through Poneyboy's perspective.
