This photo shows people lining up at banks after the market crash. They were trying to get their money out because they thought that it would be all gone when the market crashed. These bank runs eventually worseed the economic situation as many banks didnt have enough money to cover all the withdrawls being made.

It also explains some of the back history prior to the crash, like the roaring twenties and WW1 and the positive impact it had on the market but after the war things were in decline as there was no need for increased production in war materials and this caused a major slump in production and was a contribiting factor.

So the collapse of the American economy created a dominoe effect thorugh out the world and Canada was hit very hard due the proximity to the states and how much our economies where relient on each other and the good and services we traded.

1.What did you learn about the topic that most surprised you?

What surprised me the most of the collapse was all the small factors that attributed to the crash its hard to imagine these small things that would able to bring down a big economy. Who knew having to much wheat would cause a sudden drop in the price and would be a factor in the collapse.

2.Provide a real-life example of how this topic is relevant or interesting for you.

This topic is relevant to us because of what happened in 1929 can happen anytime to us for example the financial crisis of 2007-2008 of the US housing market created mass panic and a lot of institutions had to be bailed out, like the all the major car dealers.

3. Which research did you find most interesting? Why?

The research that i found most interesting was that in just one day of bad trading and selling the impact it had for the next 10-15 years. It kicked of the great depression the longest economic and worst economic disaster that struck the world. It shows you how fast the economy can decline and the impact it has.

4. What are you most likely to remember from this research?

What I'm most likely to remember about this is the panic it has created. Back in the day they didn't have a lot of technology like they do today. If this was to occur during our times it would have a greater impact on us and would likely create a a lot more panic and could possibly lead to a government collapse and could utterly destrory us.
