Feedback is important to allow students to understand how to expand and increase their learning and fill any gaps there may be. It is also important for students to reach desired grades
Generally orally and/or written to give students the opportunity to progress. Oral feedback is good for immediate feedback and also explain the written feedback. It can be given throughout lessons during assignments before hand in or when marking pieces of work to be resubmitted or stretch learning and increase the grade.
Students expect feedback to be honest, transparent and give them the opportunity to learn. They also expect it to be respectful and equal across the board.

Feedback is incredibly important for learners to understand their current position, in addition to strengths and areas for improvement. Without feedback, learners will struggle to understand what they need to do in order to progress.

Feedback can be given verbally, although it is always beneficial to follow this up with some written feedback to ensure that the learner can revisit this at a later point. Feedback can be provided immediately following an activity/assessment, although it can also be shared after a period of reflection to remove any emotion/bias.

When receiving feedback, students should expect: honesty; clear explanation of strengths and areas for improvement; written feedback; demonstrations of how to progress/progression routes; examples of good practice to refer to; opportunities to demonstrate progress/learning in future lessons

Feedback is important because it allows students to understand the limitations of their knowledge in a constructive way. Students may believe they understand a concept, and feedback can show them if they are not quite "getting it". Feedback is continuous - either when a student asks a question, or when they are asked a question (a simple yes/no). Students expect feedback to be kind, thorough and consistent. They also expect it to be sufficient to improve their knowledge/grade.

Feedback is important because it supports learning. After feedback students know what they doing well and wrong, what progress they made and what they need to work more on. I give feedback constantly every lesson and after each assessment. My feedbacks are generally a discussions with student but for feedbacks after assessment I additionally use a form. My learners expect me to be honest if something went wrong. They want me to be positive as well, it gives them more motivation. Joanna

Feedback is important because it enables students to adjust their understanding of a topic and ensure they are constructing accurate knowledge.
You should give feedback regularly as part of frequent formative assessment as this has a significant impact on learning. Feedback should always be timely, clear, fair and accurate. Students will expect verbal more informal feedback as well as formal written feedback that they can look back on and refer to. Feedback should have a blend of positive points as well as areas for improvement.

Keith Mc: Feedback is a way of getting students to see how close their work is to the course requirement/learning objectives. It is important to get an objective view of where they stand in relation to the skills/knowledge they must have to achieve. For mock exams, feedback is usually given within 2 weeks of doing the exam, for online learning feedback is given during class. Students expect the teacher to be transparent and honest when giving feedback, they also expect the teacher to be professional in their manner and not use sarcasm or disparaging remarks that are not constructive. Students expect detail in where they went wrong and guidance into how this occurred. For frequently occurring issues e.g. not including units, I would feedback to students as a group, e.g. showing what marks are available in an example answer simulating what an examiner would do, then I use another two examples afterwards to get the students to comment on what marks should be given and why. It helps students develop a critical eye for their own work

Feedback is important because, it is encouraging , and motivating to support the learner to achieve their goal. The timing on feedback depends on the given situation,( though it should be continuous in different forms) it could be within 10 days as per the awarding bodies marking criteria or immediately if it is in a Q&A session. Students expect honest feedback, as long as this is done in a positive motivating manner.
