Language is a universal means for expressing feelings, emotions and experiences. However, each language does it in its own way. Therefore, the study of foreign languages is an enormous experience for a person. It is not enough just to learn the vocabulary or the grammar rules. You need to start to see the world from the other side, to think in a new way. A new language is an excellent opportunity to learn more about another culture, places and people. When you speak a foreign language, you feel like a part of another culture, you feel like another person with another soul.

To my mind learning a language isn't an easy goal, it's very complex, because it consists of many aspects. Wise people say that if you want to solve a complex task you must devide it into smaller and easier parts. I've listened to them and devided "the language" into 5 parts. These are: 1)vocabulary
2)grammar
3)writing
4)listening
5)speech
At first site it seems that any part doesn't depend on the other part but it's not like that. Your overall knowledge of the language is the sum of these aspects and i want to prove it. Imagine you have the best vocabulary, you know 10k words but without grammar you can't create the simplest sentence, can you? Or maybe you are an expert in listening, it's easy for you to catch on BBC News in English, songs of you favourite band etc. But if you don't have enough oral practise it will be a disaster when you want to talk to a foreigner. I can go on for a very long time and generate many examples but it isn't neccesary. The main idea is a language is a vast field of knowledge and if you learn it partially you won't be able to use is properly. But after learning all the highlighted points you'll become very experiensed in the language and you'll use that with the highest efficiency.

p.s. if you can't devide your task into smaller subtasks the task is pretty easy or you can't imagine what you are doing)

I personally think that learning foreign language we change ourselves, change our soul and mind, our outlook and of course broad horizons. It is great opportunity to learn more about mentality and traditions of people, whose language we are learning and according on these knowledge we feel that we are part of them. Also, when we speak foreign language, we feel more freedom, because it is something new for us, new experience. I think most people feel happier.
