Winston’s hope lies on the proles, so he is constantly drawn to them. I think Winston is attracted to them because they have something that he yearns for; freedom. The proles enjoy freedom, while Winston only dreams of freedom. Besides for Winston the proles represent his hope for the future. Winston envies the freedom of the proles. I think he envies the simplicity of their lives. Winston is putting his faith on the proles, I think inside of him, he is cheering the proles to rise up and destroy the absurd government of Big Brother and his party. Although from what I could see in this chapter, he did not receive the answers he was looking for. Which worries me, because many thoughts went through his head to such an extent that he imagined that perhaps everything that the government said might be true.

Winston is constantly drawn to the proles by his endless seek for clarification and determinatio to set his mind. This leads Winston to question himself and others. He wants to know how things were in the past. For this reason, he even visits a prole neighborhood, where he meets two men, that in some way, impact him more than what he thinks. One of these men is Mr. Charrington, a 68 years old guy who owns an old shop- interesting the same shop were Winston bought his dairy. How does this affect Winston`s way of thinking? What does Winston now think about the proles?
So far, I can not tell if Winston would like to live as a prole, but what I can surely say is that Winston understands that the past was better than the present and he wishes reality could be like those times - times when the Party did not exist at all.

Winston's constant draw to the proles is because he knows that they can change the future of Oceania. He wants to get closer to them, study them, why they act a certain way towards something. He wants to see if they are as animalistic as they are described. I think Winston wants to see the proles from HIS OWN point of view. He may be jealous of the proles because they seem to be more free than the normal citizens. I think he may want to be one of them so he could open their eyes and start a rebellion against Big Brother.

Winston is so drawn to proles I think because freedom is basically important but Winston only wish that can exist freedom but proles enjoy freedom. Proles radically want freedom I think Winston believe on the proles to reconsider on freedom.A probably that can change their minds. But for other point of view Winston want to studied the proles on how they act if they have an opportunity of freedom. I think Winston want to be one of the proles because they can reveal the government of big brother. So Proles are no longer deceived by the them anymore.

He wants to know more about them, because he thinks that they can change the future of Oceania by fighting against the government . Proles are described are stupid people, but Winston wants to make sure by his own if this is true. Wiston visit a neighborhood were proles live, he met some people, maybe in his mind or in his heart he wants to be as a prole because they are more fre than him, so he will be studying proles because they are usefull fo the fight against BB.

Winston is drawn to the proles because he still thinks that if there is hope it relays on them. He believes that only by getting to understand them he will have a better understanding of what the life was like before the revolution. I also believe that he is in some way jealous of the proles, how they act without caring and the freedom they have, which he can't have. Winston looks for answers in the proles, but I think he is taking a great risk just wandering off to their places, and for very little because so far he hasn't got very much from them. I believe he has to be more careful and look for a way to get answers without being noticed.

Winston is drawn to the proles because he thinks that they can make a change in Oceania. As he said, "if there is hope, it lies in the proles." The proles live in a different way than the normal citizens, they are more free to act. If Winston understands the proles, then he will understand how life was before the "revolution" because they are not controlled. I think that Winston, at some point, is jealous of them because they can act freely and they are not getting controlled by the government, but for another part he isn't because the proles are too stupid in order to rebel. He might want to become part of the prole, so he can help them analyze what is happening and then rebel against the gov.

Winston Belives that if there is hope it lays on the proles because they are allowed to have a lot more freedom that any other social group in oceania. Winston is actually jealous because the proles aren't "control" by the government but at the same time he wouldn't like to be stupid, he finds weird how the proles are use to being abused and treated in a non-human way. He might help them realize how unfair their life is and make them rebel againts the government.

Winston thinks that there was some freedom in the past so he want's to know more about it and he visited the the neighborhood of the proles. the prole live their lives in a free way and they don't have to follow the rules of the government. Winston wants freedom so he start investigating about the past and he has some faith in freedom because the proles represent freedom but they are silly so they live their lives only for fun and they don't think in the other people.

Winston's hope relies in the proles. I think that this is the best he can do (trust the proles) because they are different to the other people. As the book tells us, the proles are different, they have different rules and differrent treatment from the government. I truly believe that if Winston wants to understand the past he needs to interact more with the proles. This can be a dangerous thing to do because people might think that he is trying to persuade the proles of doing something against brig brother. I believe that Winston is jealous of the proles. They have more freedom than him. If Winston wants to do something against Big Brother he should train the Proles or something like that in order for them to do something against the government. The proles themselves would not do anything against the government.

Winston is trying to know the past and he want to be closer to them to know it. He visit two proles neighbor that he got. He want to convince them to rebel against the government and if he make them to do it the party can come down. This can be bad because if the government saw it he can be trapped. So if Winston want to make the change he should make them think against the government.

Winston hopes in the proles, because they live with different rules compared to the people close to the government. They have more freedom to do what they want and the government dont care. This is like their own country. Winston also has envy to the prole, because since they have all of this freedom, they can easily think in their own way, meaning they can rebel against this tiran government which oppresses people and make them trust only in the government. Now Winston is convinced of everything that the government tell him to do in the past, he wants to convince the proles. He started with two prole neighbors trying to convince them that the government is bad.

If this happens this will be the way Winston will be able to know the past and that will be the way Winston will be closer with the proles and this will take to another step that will be of convincing them to reveal against the party and they can get out of the power and Oceania can be free again. Winston feels weird by thinking what could the proles have with out the government telling them what to do and without prohibiting them things and making rules. The future is in hands of Winston and the Proles. Will Winston and the proles will be able to change Oceania?

I think Winston has lots of hope that the proles can stop Big Brother. I think Winston wants to get clues or any information that might help him evidence the suspects he has on Big Brother. Even though they are animalistic and ineffective he wants to prove he is right and everybody else is wrong. I think in some way he envies the way the proles live. They have adapt to BB’s rules and don’t live thinking that their Party are treating them as puppets. I think Winston sometimes would like to be as ignorant as the proles are but deeply inside he trusts himself.

what do you think Winston’s constant draw to the proles is? Why is he so drawn to them, even though they are animalistic and largely ineffective for change for the any sort of revolution? Do you think he envies them at all? Why or Why not? I think that Winston's hope relies on his hope to the proles. I think that he is so drawn to them because of his hope. I think that in a certain point Winston is hoping the proles to change Oceania Future. I also think that Winston envies the proles because of the way they live, for example with more freedom that other citizens.

Winston is doing this to understand things that happen, to have the proles with him is good because they are free and they are lot of people. If they are against big brother they could win him.
