The carbon cycle is the cycle where autotrophic organisms (plants) produce glucose which is a sugar and oxygen through photosynthesis. Then the heterotrophic organisms such as animals, bacteria, Monera, fungi and us humans rely on for energy sources and co2. We then breathe out co2, then its released back into the atmosphere. Fossils and burning fossil fuels also contain trapped co2, which then get released back into the atmosphere by the decomposers that decompose the fossil.

Carbon is important is ecosystems as it is a key component for all life functions. I know that decomposition is the process when bacteria, monera and fungi all like eat away or pulling apart something (usually fossils and dead organisms) until its broken down more. Eg. Fossils and burning fossil fuels with decomposers and like dead insects or animals rot away. Sometimes ants also are decomposers of insects.

carbon moves through the air, land, water, and living things using carbon cycle. Plants take in carbon dioxide during photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, animals eat plants, and both release CO2 when they breathe. When plants and animals die, decomposers like bacteria breaks them down, repeating the carbon process and keeps the ecosystem healthy and stable. If this didn't happen plants would not be able to grow.
