The camera doesn't exist, but your frame does.

Having one spot you shouldn't look at makes it very tempting to look exactly there. What occasionally works for me is to tell myself there's no camera, it helps me feel more natural when filming. Just be careful you don't take it too far, you still have to be aware of your angle and negative space.

Finding the balance of letting yourself stop thinking whilst not forgetting what you're doing is tricky, but practice makes perfect. Record yourself with a propped up phone and review it!

Take value in the various perspectives that the different people around you have to offer. This allows you to find growth in group works and cooperative task. The various perspectives will allow you to see things in ways that you might not have before or it can validate what you think you know/see. Either way it adds depth and meaning into your work.

Obviously you don’t want to look right at the camera if that’s is not speficially directed by the Filmmaker on a specific scene but you want to be inclusive. That means don’t look directly at the camera but let the camera capture you face, eyes and your thoughts.
