William Taft was born September 15,1857 in Cincinnati Ohio. He was obese as a child and overweight as an adult. Taft also attended two universities. He was the 27th president of the United States he had three children and enjoyed sports.

William Taft was successful in what he attempted to solve. when he addressed the effects of industrialization in regards to busting trust when he made the justice department start law suites against trusts that is more than twice the number Roosevelt brought in. He also addressed the effects of industrialization in regards to protecting consumers and workers by expanding the department of labor establish the children bureau. also when protecting the environment he added on 2.7 million acres to the national wildlife refugee system. He was a part of the progressives and helped reform the banking systems by creating the federal reserve. They reformed electing senators with the 17th amendment which required the direct election of senatoers by populare votes. they reformed prohibitaton with the 18th amendment which banned the production and sale of alcohol. Lastly they reformed women's suffrage with the 19th amendment which gave the right for U.S citizens to vote regardless of sex.
