- I see a bunch of old cash registers being thrown in a pile and hammered.
- It makes me think that perhaps the cash registers are being replaced/recycled.
- I wonder if this is a new protest against capitalism.

In this picture, the wealthy men are destroying all the old slot machines, cash registers, and other old technology.
Update: i understand now why they were smashing the slot machines and when it took place.

In the picture, the rich wealthy business men are destroying the slot machines in the streets of new york possibly during the great depression
UPDATE: I was correct about it being in New York and during the great depression, but it wasn't wealthy business men. It makes more sense because of the hats the people are wearing.

I see a lot of people throwing away slot machines because they are worthless to the people. I wonder why the people think that this is worthless and why they have to smash them, it makes me think that they have nothing better to do.

Update: I now learned that they were indeed slot machines, but my Idea o f why they were doing it was was off, I now understand why this is happening and it makes much more sense

In the picture, there are men in the 1930s breaking either broken slot machines or ones that are fine in a revolt to gambling. Or they are just regular men wanting to break stuff

I see a bunch of men throwing away cash registers. It makes me wonder if this happening during the Great Depression and they’re throwing them away because no one can spend any money on anything anymore.
Update: Now I think it makes more since because why would someone be smashing cash registers during the Great Depresion. The mayor smashing slot machines to scare the gangsters, it surprised me but it still makes more since use violence in this situation.

This picture looks like a group of men smashing cash registers. It makes me wonder if stores are closing in the area.
Update: So now that i know it is slot machines it makes more sense for them to smash them because in New York the mayor knew people were losing money.

I was close, but the picture was in the 1930s the mayor was destroying slot machines in a revolt. For the most part I was right, it makes more since now that I know that it was in New York in the 1930s, because the picture was so old.

I see a man with a sledgehammer hitting old slot machines while a line of men are watching him. It makes me think they have nothing better to do, but they are well dressed. It makes me wonder why they’re next to a large pile of slot machines.

update- It now makes since why the mean are dressed nice -some of the men are district attorneys and the mayor. The slot machines tell us that they are protesting something - gambling and gangsters.

It is a picture after a law past to get rid of slot machines so they just destroyed them.

They are some slot machines getting destroyed by some guys in fedoras. They are hitting them with sledgehammers. These men all went and gambled in a casino but they lost so they are destroying all of the machines.
update: I understand it now because it was in the 30's. Makes a lot more sense now that i know what happened.

This is happening during the Great Depression and they are throwing casino machines out because no one has any money.
Update: I got the time period and I had no clue it was in New York City. I am very surprised.

I think the men are smashing slot machines because they put some of the men in debt.
Update: The picture really shows the mayor of New York beating machines with a sledge hammer to show the gangsters they are next. I was suprised by this.

I see what looks like some men destroying some old cash registers. It makes me think that they are angry with the machines for some reason. I wonder what has made them angry at the machines.
Update: I now can see that they are smashing slot machines which makes more sense. They have a better reason than smashing cash registers. The reason this was happening was because the mayor wanted to make an example to the gangsters.

In the picture i see a bunch of old slot machines thrown in a pile. The people are hitting them with a hammer because they have replaced them with some new ones.
pdate: I understand now that they were trying to get rid of gambling and guns. They were trying to send a message to the gangsters.

i see a pile of slot machines that being smashed by the association of casinos and resorts after finding them being used illegally against the guidelines. This is taking place in Vegas. It makes me think this casino got put out of business for not following the laws. I wonder what they did to cause these actions?
