•En 1855, cuando Benito Juárez regresó a México participó en la revolución liberal que derrocó a Santa Anna. Empezó así el llamado periodo de Reforma, en cuyos primeros años, Juárez fue secretario (ministro) de Justicia.

•Los movimientos reformistas más importantes fueron tres y dieron origen a tres grandes iglesias: la luterana, la calvinista y la anglicana.
