1.HOW DO PEOPLE IN BELARUS SPEND THEIR FREE TIME?

If you’ve got a big block of free time, the best way to put that to use is to relax, have fun, decompress from a stressful day, or spend time with a loved one.
For many people in Belarus, it is important to achieve a balance between work and leisure. As we know most of them are workaholics and they are really needed in a good rest after work. First of all the people in Belarus prefer to spend their free time with friends and family. Belarusians are not very sociable people who are interested in making friendship with more and more people. . But most of us like to relax accompanied by their friends and relatives, we prefer to stay at home or to visit our friends.
What about the younger generation , they prefer to entertain in disco-clubs with friends, to go to the different music concerts, listening to music and, of course, using the internet or some of them prefer to spend pastime on their hobbies. I'm sure there are a lot of opportunities to spend your free time according to your interests and tastes.
Most of young people do not know how to plan their leisure. But many of them have their hobbies, special interests. These help them to use energy they have and to realize their ambitions. However, many young people seem to be indifferent to their studies, social activities and so on. And sometimes there are no people who can help them to find the right road. That is really dangerous because these young people begin looking for the easiest way to enjoy their life. They start smoking, drinking, and even taking drugs. They become dangerous not only for other people but for themselves too.

My name is Nastya and I volunteer because it is my hobby and my passion. I love to help others out and provide knowledge and guidance where needed. I have met some amazing people who have inspired me to do new things, take chances and get involved in things I normally don't participate in.

I remember my first year to volunteer in a summer day camp with kids, and what a great experience it was. I was always in position of a student, never a leader. As a volunteer I was helping others, but I also helped myself. I was very nervous on my first day, after going through preparation programs. I wanted to do a good job. What a surprise my first day was. It was great! It built my self confidence a lot! Since I've grown up, I've forgotten what it's like to be a little kid. I didn't realize that even the simplest things could make them happy.

Ever since I've been volunteering at Summer Day Camps, I've really enjoyed getting to know the children and learning more about myself. All the time I've spent with these children taught me a great deal of things and I hope to see them again next summer!

3.WHAT BOOK WOULD U RECOMMEND ME TO READ?

If you are trying to understand yourself and the world around you as a teenager, one of the best things you can do is read. So I’d advise Harry Potter. The Harry Potter books do not teach children to practice magic. In very British style, one is born magical. Harry Potter's very existence is due to the self sacrificing love of his mother, shown in protecting her infant son from Voldemort, offering herself as a substitute for her only son's life, and ultimately giving up her life. Her loving sacrifice is a charm powerful enough to prevent Harry's death as an infant, and this love also saves him in his encounters with Voldemort in school. Actually, the Potter books are filled with very good moral prescriptions for children (and adults). The basic themes and story lines all teach that we must develop and hone our talents and abilities, and place them in the service of good rather than evil. Most importantly, for today's overly individualistic kids stuck in their own little iPod worlds, Harry has to reach out to others, form friendships, follow the advice of mentors, and generally grow as a person in relation with others in order to fulfill his role in the community.

4.DO WE NEED MONEY TO HAVE FUN IN OUR FREE TIME?

We tend to think that in order to have fun we need to spend a lot of money. But often the simpler things are more fun, especially if you have children. Here is a list of suggestions of family friendly activities you can do that are free or nearly free: Check for festivals or events nearby.
Many cities have free events. Regularly check your local newspapers for information and dates.
Walk in the park. For added fun bring a picnic and don’t forget the blanket.Camping.
If you love the outside environment you may consider spending a few nights under canvas, etc.
