         <description><![CDATA[<div>With the objective of carrying out an environmental audit in a practical exercise, a visit was made to the La Miel hydroelectric power station, this is located in the Municipality of Norcasia of the Department of Caldas, takes advantage of the water from La Miel river, southern Samana , Guarinó and Manso for the generation of up to 396 MW in three generation units, currently belongs to ISAGEN and Brookfield private Canadian multinational; The hydroelectric power plant is used with the objective of producing and commercializing energy.<br><br></div><div>ISAGEN has a total of seven power generation plants located in the departments of Antioquia, Tolima, Santander and Caldas, with a total installed capacity of 3,032 megawatts (MW) distributed in 2,732 hydraulic MW and 300 thermal MW. This places them as the third company that produces and sells more electricity in the country.<br><br></div><div>The hydroelectric, have an area for the conservation of 4,108 ha, this company is governed by international rules and standards. The official who attended the visit warns that until 2018 the hydroelectric were certified under the ISO 9001 version 2015. Its structure is divided into three components (biotic, physical and social). Each of these has a team of trained personnel and programs for their special attention.<br><br></div><div>Within the hydroelectric plant, they have permanent monitoring equipment to guarantee the optimal operation of the plant, monitoring the increase of flows, floodgates and the whole structure that together generates electricity since 2002.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It is a tour of the facilities of the hydroelectric power station, it is not possible to access the company's documentation, for this reason the results are shown below, based on the fact that the official who attended the visit informed us and we observed it from General form in the facilities. It is not allowed to take photographs in the area of ​​energy production.</div><div>Each one is duly signposted, has manuals of norms and procedures for each activity carried out by the hydroelectric personnel.</div><div>The route started at the Patángoras dam which is 188 m high, there is no evidence of any malfunction. We continue in the room of the machines where the water reaches the turbines, and the passage of mechanical energy to the kinetic energy producing electrical energy.</div><div>It was evident that the staff found their respective personal protection envelope for the maintenance of the plant. Observe the correct separation and management of ordinary solid waste, the risks and recycling potential, the general way of highlighting the proper functioning and compliance with the standards and criteria of the audit. All this based on observation. The employee expresses that the company performs internal audits twice a year and ensures that everyone in the company complies with the standards they have maintained.</div><div>The company for the ISAGEN case makes reports or annual reports so that the community knows the programs and actions that comply with the biotic, physical and social requirements.</div><div>It is about working so that all the offices are centered in the main headquarters from Medellin, that is, in the plants, as well as the one in charge of repairing and maintaining the facilities, this is the end of the control of the sea much more rigorous.</div><div> </div><div>The criteria for the audit are described below:</div><div> </div><div>- ISO 14001: 2015</div><div>- Environmental management plan</div><div>- Availability for work in the field as evidence of the execution of the service provision of the company.</div><div>- Indicators and compliance with the ISO 14001: 2015 standard.</div><div>- Procedures and programs applicable to the GHS.</div><div><br></div><div>Finding: </div><div>At the time of the visit, a small leak of oil was observed in the engine room, as a measure of containment, they used a bucket, it is expected that they could have solved the problem, the environmental engineer reported for the solution of the accident, they clarify which are events that occur sporadically and to which they are managed efficiently, it is emphasized that the hydroelectric plant has turns to cover 24 hours a day.<br><br></div><div>Non conformity:</div><div>The audit team evidenced during the visit in the machinery area th leakage of oil in a of its machines, although there is a segregation of hazardous waste, its storage does not meet the minimum technical characteristics and risk prevention; containers of hazardous waste were observed partially in the open, on floors without an adequate secondary containment system and / or spill collectors; they are not properly identified in their storage (identification, quantity, category, specific risks, generation date).</div>]]></description>
