         <description><![CDATA[<p>by John Slabbert</p><p>Industrial relations laws govern the relationship between employees &amp; employers  have a big impact on the ways people work in Australia. These laws have had many changes since the 1990s.</p><ul><li>Laws have had many changes since the 1990s.</li><li>Many of these changes have changed because of the government polices.</li><li>Government also affects the world of work through decisions regarding taxation and import tariffs, which can impact the ability of certain industries to remain competitive.</li><li>Changes have had a significant impact on the working hours of people employed in hospitality (hotels, clubs, restaurants) and in retail trade.</li></ul>]]></description>

Outsourcing involves engaging individuals or businesses outside of an organisation to fulfil functions previously carried out within the organisation itself. To improve productivity, now many Australian businesses outsource their non-core functions.&nbsp;</span><br></li><li>Lots more businesses taken it further, outsourcing functions to workers and organisation overseas.</li></ul>]]></description>

Now in modern times there are many other factors that might influence the ways in which people work, like: </p><ul><li><p>government regulations and workers’ unions</p></li><li><p>the impact of globalisation, the decreasing cost of distance, and the&nbsp;outsourcing&nbsp;and&nbsp;offshoring&nbsp;of jobs</p></li><li><p>the decline of employment opportunities in some industries and the growth of others.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
