         <description><![CDATA[<p>Below is the lesson plan that we carried out in phase 2.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Topic: </strong>Ordering Food in a Restaurant.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Objective: </strong></p><p><strong>1.</strong> Students will be able to use vocabulary related to food and drinks to place an order at a restaurant.</p><p> <strong>2</strong>. Students will practice their conversation skills through role-playing.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Student’s level:</strong> (MCRE) Basic</p><p><strong>Target skill:</strong> Oral expression</p><p><strong>Target vocabulary: </strong>Objective Vocabulary for Ordering in a Restaurant</p><p><strong>Student’s age:</strong> 12 years old</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Target gramar:</strong> -</p><p> <strong>Question Structure:</strong> How to formulate questions relevant to the context. </p><p><strong>- Use of the Present Simple: </strong>To express habitual habits or actions.</p><p> <strong>- Use of the Simple Past: </strong>To describe past experiences. - Short Phrases to Make Orders: Simple structures such as "I would like..." and "I am going to order...".</p><p> <strong>- Use of Adjectives: </strong>To enrich the descriptions of foods.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Target vocabulary:</strong> Objective Vocabulary for Ordering in a Restaurant</p><p> <strong>Meals: </strong></p><p>- Appetizer, Main course, Dessert, Salad, Soup, Pasta, Meat, Fish, Vegetarian </p><p><strong>Drinks: </strong>Water, Soda, Beer, Wine, Juice <strong>Useful Phrases for Placing Orders: </strong></p><p>- ¿Can you bring me the menu, please?</p><p> - What do you recommend? - The bill, please. Descriptive Adjectives: - Delicious, Spicy, Sweet, Salty, Fresh</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Warm-up activity:</strong> </p><p><strong>- Activity:</strong> "What did you eat yesterday?" </p><p>- Each student will briefly share what they ate the previous day, using the past simple. This activates prior knowledge about food and allows you to practice tense.</p><p>- They can be asked to mention at least one dish and one drink, to introduce related vocabulary.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Material:</strong> (mandatory)</p><p> - Bookmarks. </p><p>- Blackboard or whiteboard (optional).</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Main activities.</strong></p><p><strong> 1. Introduction to Vocabulary:</strong> </p><p><strong>- Activity:</strong> Present the new vocabulary using the cards. Ask students if they know any of the dishes and drinks presented.</p><p> - Brainstorm other foods they like, encouraging participation. </p><p><strong>2. Dialogue Practice: </strong></p><p><strong>- Materials</strong>: Simple scripts with model dialogues (customer and waiter). </p><p><strong>- Activity: </strong>In pairs, students will read the model dialogue and then modify it, adding their own dish choices and questions about the menu.</p><p> - Rotate pairs so that everyone practices with different partners.</p><p> <strong>Integration and</strong> <strong>Progression:</strong></p><p> <strong>- Role Play: </strong>"Fictional Restaurant" - Divide the students into small groups (4- 5 people) where some will be the customers and others the waiters.</p><p> - Each group must create their own simple menu with at least five food options and two drinks.</p><p> - Afterwards, they will carry out the role play where customers will make orders to the waiters using the vocabulary learned and questions about the menu.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Material:</strong> (mandatory)</p><p>Cards with images of different dishes and drinks.</p><p> -Simple scripts with model dialogues (customer and waiter).</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Practice or Assessment</strong> </p><p>- During the role</p><p>-play, observe the students and take notes on their vocabulary use, fluency, and grammatical correctness. </p><p>- At the end of the exercise, conduct brief group feedback where each student shares something they learned or a difficulty they had.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Material: (mandatory)</strong> </p><p>- Bookmarks. </p><p>- Blackboard or whiteboard (optional)</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Closure</strong> </p><p>- Gather all students for a final reflection. Writing is an important part of the communication process not only as a means of communication but also as a source of power, a social necessity, and a way to gain knowledge and solve problems.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Instructions:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>1. Download:</strong> To download Grammarly, you can go to <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://grammarly.com/native/">grammarly.com/native/</a> and follow the instructions that appear.</p><p><strong>Log in:</strong> To use Grammarly on a new device, log in to your account at <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://app.grammarly.com">app.grammarly.com</a>.</p><p><strong>Check installation:</strong> To check if Grammarly is installed on your browser, look for the G icon.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Detect errors:</strong> Grammarly highlights in red the words or phrases that it detects as possible errors.</p><p><strong>2. Using Grammarly:</strong> Instruct students to find a quiet place so they can concentrate when using Grammarly.</p><p><strong>Comparing writing:</strong> Instruct students to compare their writing with that of others to check and detail spelling and grammatical errors.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Practice:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>1.</strong> Students will be able to write a text or sentences from their daily lives.</p><p><strong>2.</strong> Students will be required to use the verb to be in the text or sentences.</p><p><strong>3.</strong> After writing the text, Grammarly shows them any spelling and grammatical errors they have, giving them options to correct them.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Feedback:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Automatic feedback:</strong> Students will receive corrections instantly, as Grammarly offers real-time suggestions as they write. This means that we don't have to wait to finish a text to receive feedback. By receiving instant corrections, you can learn new grammar rules and improve your skills as you go.
