Her share-cropping grandparents were evicted from the farm where they had lived for a quarter-century.

The kids protested everyday for a week by sitting in a church and going out 50 at a time then getting arrested, and they looked happy through the entire process, they even started singing sometimes. The police used fire hoses and police dogs to fight the kids and yet the kids just stayed dancing and singing being peaceful while the police were using violence.
