Write an essay explaining your position on whether or not teachers should be able to carry concealed weapons on campus.

We have heard a ton of controversy about the dangers of guns and for example we see how many deaths there have been because of the dangers of guns. Based on these controversies do you believe that teachers should be able to bear arms in classrooms? Teachers should not be able to have concealed weapons in classrooms because the gun is useless if the teacher is not willing to pull the trigger, and if the teacher lacks knowledge about gun control it can lead to harm of the students and of the teacher.

Firstly, Teachers should not be able to have concealed weapons in classrooms because if the the teacher lacks knowledge about gun control then the teacher will be putting the students lives in danger as well as their own life in danger. For example if there was ever a time when the teacher needed to use the gun the teacher wouldn't be able to because of the fact that the teacher has no experience with handling a gun. The quote from lawcenter.giffords.org say "From 2005-2010, almost 3,800 people in the U.S. died from unintentional shootings". This quote shows that people get shot accidentally each year so if teachers had access to having a handgun during school the students lives could be at risk because of the teachers lack of knowledge about gun safety.

Secondly, Teachers should not be able to have concealed weapons in classrooms because guns are useless if the teacher is not willing to pull the trigger. For example if the teacher is lacking knowledge about gun safety then the teacher would be putting the students lives in danger because if there was ever a hostage situation the gun would be useless because of the teachers lack of knowledge and experience with the weapon. Also, for example people always are saying that they would do anything to protect themselves but when the actual time comes around they don't know what to do because they are all talk and no action because they freeze in the moment.

In conclusion, Teachers should not be able to have concealed weapons in classrooms because if the teachers lack knowledge they would be putting your children in danger because they don't know how to properly handle a firearm and also if the teacher does shoot they could accidentally shoot a student. If you believe that teachers should be able to bear arms just think about if you were the student how would you feel knowing that your teacher had access to a handgun at all times.

Write an essay explaining whether its harder to suffer from physical pain or emotional pain.

Have you ever had a scrape that has gone way in a few days? Have you ever lost anyone that is close to you and that you really care about? Emotional pain is more difficult to recover from than Physical pain because Emotional pain doesn't always go away all the time and also, Emotional pain can cause people to commit suicide or has a big factor in most suicides.

Firstly, Emotional pain is more difficult to recover from than physical pain because emotional pain can cause people to commit suicide. The supporting quote says " Over 50 percent of all people who die by suicide suffer from major depression". ( theovernight.org ) This quote shows that emotional pain is a big factor in peoples lives today because when people now day think about people committing suicide the first thing that people assume is that those people suffered from depression because status show that depression is the leading cause of people committing suicide.

Secondly, Emotional pain is more difficult to recover from than physical pain because emotional pain doesn't always go away. The supporting quote says " PTSD affects about 7.7 million Aerican adults." ( medlineplus.gov ). This quote shows that emotional pain is more difficult to recover from that physical pain because today there are so many soldiers fighting for our country and all we hear are the good parts about battle, but the real battle starts when they come home from battle because there are so many people that suffer from PTSD and some cases are so severe that there is no hope for them and they are scared for life.

In Conclusion, Emotional pain is more difficult to recover from than Physical pain because there are so many people that suffer from many different things that could possibly end in them possibly getting killed and committing suicide. Are you aware of these thing that are happening all around you every day and affecting millions of people everyday? What is something that you can do to help those in need? What can you do to spread awareness to those that might not know about these things?

Write an essay explaining whether or not guns make people safer.

The topic of guns is often one that is always neutral because some say that guns are necessary for safety protocols, but guns are one of the leading weapons used during deaths and suicides. Guns make peoples safety at risk because accidental shootings are often the leading causes of death and guns are often the weapon used during suicides.
Firstly, Guns make peoples safety at risk because the leading cause of children's deaths are by a accidental shooting. The quote from the article "Children are dying because of Americas' denial about guns" that says "An average 1,297 children die and 5,790 are treated for injuries caused by guns each year, one study reported. Six percent of these deaths were accidental." This quote shows that when owning a gun your children's lives could be in danger because more than likely your kids know where the family gun is at. The quote from the article "Children are dying because of Americas' denial about guns" that says "About 40% of parents who guns incorrectly believe their children have never handled a gun owned in the household." This shows that people who own guns often don't know that their children have messed with the gun in the house which could lead to the possible death of the child.
Secondly, Guns make peoples safety at risk because suicides are common and guns are often the weapon of choice. The quote from the article "Children are dying because of Americas' denial about guns" that says " Suicides by firearms also dropped from 2002 through 2007 but then began climbing again, increasing 60% from 2009 through 2014." This quote shows that most people are suffering or have suffered from depression and have suicidal thoughts and guns are often the first thing that people think of when talking about suicides.
In Conclusion, Guns put peoples safety at risk because most parents don't hide their weapons very well and children can get a hold of them and kill themselves on accident and people can kill themselves with the weapons.

What rhetorical appeal(s) do you think both author's used for the effectiveness of their arguments? Provide textual evidence to support your answer.

In the articles " The controversial Law at the heart" and the article " Children are dying because of Americans' denial about guns" both authors are using the rhetorical appeal Ethos so that they can get their point across to the reader with a moral connection with the reader. In the article " Children are dying because of Americas' denial about guns" has a quote that says " Deaths of children and teens under 18 years old had been declining from 2006 to 2013, but they have increased over the past two years, just as the number of guns owned in the U.S. have dramatically increased." This quote shows that the death of teens and small children have increased becuase of the fact that moreguns have been bought which shows that gun owners are misusing guns and that is leading to the death of small children and young adults. In the article " The controversial law at the heart" has a quote that says " Homicides in Flordia more than trippled, from just 30 to more than 100 in 2010. In that time, the standing yourground defense was used in 93 cases involving 65 deaths- and in majority of those cases, it worked." This quote shows that since the accused rate of people that killed someone is low because they say that they were "standing their ground" because they see that people have gotten away with murder just by saying that they were standing their ground which has lead to the murder rates nearly tripling. The author want use to learn that the misuseage of guns have caused tons of children to get killed at a young age because the amounts of guns being purchased have increased and the people misuse them and murder rates increase which lead to the death of children. The author wants us to make sure that gun owners are safe with their guns and make sure that your hide your gun very well so that children can't get to them and eventually lead to accidential shootings and death of kids.

Women seem kind of "superfluous"(unnecessary) to this play. Even Brutus, who loves Portia, seems to treat her unkindly. Could this whole tragedy had been heeded? Why is what some might call "woman's intuition" dismissed in the play as cowardice and foolishness.

Even though the assassination wasn't caused by the women, their insight could have helped avoid the situation if only the women had equal power as the men. In the book Caesar's wife Calpurnia tried to tell him that she didn't have a good feeling about his outgoing because she predicted Caesar's death. The quote in act 2 scene 2 says " What mean you, Caesar? Think you to walk forth? You shall not stir out of your house today." (Lines 8-9). This quote shows how Calpurnia didn't want Caesar to leave the house. "Caesar shall forth. The things that threatened me ne'er looked but on my back. When they shall se the face of Caesar, they are vanished." This quote shows how although there was danger Caesar decided to simply dismiss Calpurnia and continue on to die.

How are the authors’ arguments similar/different from each other. Provide evidence from both text to support your answer. CCAP #2

The authors arguments are similar in both articles because in the articles "The University police can't prevent violent crimes" and in "Why I would have liked to have my weapon with me in college" the authors are both talkin about how there are no guns allowed on the universities campus and how they disagree with the fact because they believe that they should have guns on campus so they can defend themselves at any needed time. The quote from the article "The university police can't prevent violent crimes" says "The University police are unable to prevent violent crimes, and it is heartlessly arrogant to disarm potential victims." This quote show that the author believes that there should be guns on campus because guns not being allowed on campuses are leaving these people defenseless from potential attackers in the future because there is no way to protect themselves. The quote from "Why I would have liked to have my weapon with me in college" says "The choice to participate in one's own defense should be left to the individual, not mandated by the government". This quote shows that the author believes that people should be able to bear arms because campus police won't be able to protect everyone at all times so people should be able to carry guns for ones own safety. From the articles the authors wants us to learn about the possible danger that could occur on college campuses that don't allow any guns onto the campus.
