Astrobot Writing Assignment

Students will then write a creative story about their Astrobot's adventures, using the planets and facts from their mission log. Students will also be encouraged to use fictional and non-fictional encounters in their stories. This will be the worksheet that is handed out.

Storyboard Example: Part 1

Students will then create a storyboard; they will be asked to incorporate the three planets they used in their mission log. This storyboard will visually show the flight path of their astrobot. They will use Ozoblockly to code their astrobot's flight path.

Students will use Ozoblockly to code their astrobot for their storyboard. While coding, students must use three light effects and a pause code. This is an example of what the code might look like. This code is in relation to the storyboard posted above.

Part 3

Students will then be asked to combine their coding, creative writing assignment, and storyboard into a video of their astrobot on their space adventure! Students will be asked to record the astrobot moving on their storyboard, and students will read their story as the astrobot goes on their adventure to the heavens! An example of a recorded video that includes the code, the creative writing story, and the storyboard is located to the right under the section "video."
