Insanity is more of what happens when someone breaks after a long time of traumatic or stressful events. Mental illness is more slow to develop, and it kinds of sits with you as you live on. Insanity is much more intense and in the moment, like when a twig snaps.

I think the difference between insanity and mental Iillness is that mental illness is more inclusive term and something that has to either medicated or going to therapy about and insanity is going through multiple emotions

Both share around the same emotions like depression, anxiety, and anger, however mental illness is more of something you’re born with and get past to you by genetics but insanity is something that develops over time or is caused by something

For example if you’re bipolar your children might become bipolar due to genetics but insanity can’t run in a family
