Assignment brief not clear

The assignment brief for assessment RM2 001 was really hard to understand. Im aware we are now level 5 students and things don't need to be spelled out to us, but this brief was far too confusing.

Many people spoke up stating they didn't understand what was being asked of us, but it took a good few weeks before things were explained in a bit more detail - but still not sufficient enough to understand. Many students were also told contradicting things from the module team, and also quite late on in the assignment.

Considering this is our first RM assignment which counts towards our final grade, I do feel as though this choice of assessment was poor. Assigning an incredibly confusing group assessment during a pandemic where everything must be online, has given us a very unfair chance at achieving the degree classification we require/want at the end of the final year.

Misleading Information

After speaking to peers and my own experience there has been a lot of different information given to different people regarding assessments. The same people have asked the same questions and got completely different answers, this has obviously caused a lot of stress for us as students as we then dont know what path to follow. Another example of this is the assessment 002 guides. There is a blank template showing one structure and subheadings to use and then an example proposal with a completely different structure and completely different subheadings. It has been very hard to feel confident about our work and proud of what we have produced when there has been so much uncertainty.

When emails have been sent or advice seeked a number of us have got the responses ‘please come to the seminar’ ‘ask this in the seminar’ ‘bring this up at the end of the lecture’ Whilst we understand lecturers cannot devote their entire lives to helping us students these responses arent the greatest of help. Especially in our current nationwide situation sometimes if we have sent an email it is simply because we have a simple really quick question that has been playing on our minds, a lot of us have also attended one seminar a week or more and tried to raise our questions and they get missed and so not answered. It would be very nice to not feel like when we send an email asking for help we are just being told to take our problems elsewhere.
