To conclude, Diamond still hopes that the future of the world can be changed to be changed, because he thinks/believes that  humanity would have the ability to take act on these type of issues, and his attitude towards the conflict is highly hopeful. Fourth, he uses examples to confirm, the more human, the more waste and consumption will be. He coampares the First World (rich) countries to the Third World (poor) countries. He states that rich countries manufacture 32 times more wastes than the poor countries. Furthermore, the biggest problem is not the amount of people, rather, the size of human impact. All in all, the author concludes that if people want to put  everything right they did, they have quite enough opportunities. Along with author’s being coautious optimistic, he reminds that people can follow not only documentaries, radios, newspaper and all technological devices with internet, but also learn from mistakes of past society not to do any harm thing to our world. 

In the article, ‘Collapse” Diamond (2005) lists environmental problems that the humankind is presently suffering by dividing them into four categories. In the first category, he refers to the destruction or loss of natural resources due to human activities such as turning natural habitats to cities, villages, farmlands, roads and so on. Diamond (2005) then draws the readers’ attention to the reserves left for energy. His main concern at this point is that there will still be oil and coal in the future but taking these out to the surface will be much costly, time-consuming and less qualified. The third category he mentions is the harmful and toxic chemicals as well as unnatural animal species and the emission of gases into the atmosphere. Diamond underlines the threat that both humans and the earth are facing such as insecticides, pesticides and herbicides we use to get better crops and other chemicals used in the industry to make our lives easier, faster and more economical but at the same time, causing many illnesses and millions of death every year. He also highlights the harmful gases released into the atmosphere due to human activities such as carbon dioxide from the cars which causes global warming. The last but not least another significant problem is the population growth. He accepts that population is growing and we need to provide more food, energy, water and other resources for them. However, his main concern is not the population but the effect of human beings on the environment due to the uneven distribution of wealth and income. The gap between the First World countries and the Third is becoming wider and wider, which inevitably causes the poor people to be jealous and even enemy of the people from those nations. Despite all these hardships and threats the world and humanity face presently, Diamond (2005) believes that they are soluble and hopes the future will be better due to the interconnectedness through which people living in the remote corners of the world can be informed about any event happening in some other places of the planet and learn much faster than our ancestors did in the past and learn from our ancestors’ mistakes.
