She rudely replied, “Why don’t you just f*** off kid?!” I replied with “suit yourself”, turned around, put in my order, and went on with my day. It’s just like how Scout had to respect her 1st grade teacher.

I would've apologized, but I actually never talked to him again. Never had the guts.

Mayella's guilt about her lies obviously troubled her during the court scene, but she continued lying to defend herself during the trial, even if she felt guilty about it. She was harming Tom and she knew it, but didn't do anything about it, much like the personal story above.

People in this society like to take the easy way out.
Sadly for us, we like to take advantage of the nice smart people and take the easy way out when it comes to harder assignments.

I have a scar around my left eye. I say I got it from falling off the roof of my house, but in reality I got it after sleeping with my fingernail digging into that part of my skin, scarring it for eternity. Originally, I was ashamed about how I got it, but now I say the story just out of habit. As my old kong fu master told me: Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present. This is like how Boo Radley has been romanticized by the people who don't know him. Like me, a story was made up to make Boo seem more interesting than he was.

#5 Have you ever had to deal with a rude adult and still have to respect them?
In many occasions, there has been a rude adult and still we had to respect them. Not to long ago, I was at a doctor appointment with my mom. as my nurse mom and I discussed treatments and their prices, I realized it was really expensive. I Switched to Spanish (for privacy reason) so that I could tell my mom that it would have been best to just cancel it all - the nurse rudely interrupts IN SPANISH and explains that no matter where I went, I would not be able to find cheaper deals . My blood beings to boil in anger of her reaction... if I chose to speak to my mom in a different language it’s because of privacy reasons , not an excuse for her to come in and brag about her speaking the language. I wanted to say something rude to her but I realized that if I did that, she would probably raise the prices even more , so I played it smart and ignored her :) , as shown in TKaM, scout puts up with rude comments on her first day of school, she realizes she will have to see the teacher everyday for the rest of the school year so she decides to hold it in and be respe

But an hour later, when my mom opens the pantry, she notices that theyre missing. Immediately, my mom started interrogating me, asking me why I would eat my sister's chips and that I'd get sick. I insisted that I didn't eat them, and that I actually ate all of the cookies and the icecream. It wasn't until my sister came clean that my mom decided to apologize. In the book, Tom Robinson was falsely accuseed of raping and beating a white women. Except, the woman never came clean, and no body apologized or tried to redeem Tom Robinsons tainted name and death.
