         <description><![CDATA[<div>According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 165,000 people are homeless in Australia on any given night.<br>The homelesss experience vast inequalities oh healthcare.<br><br>Access: The lack of reliable transport can make attending health-related appointments sporadic and untimely.&nbsp;<br>Financial constraints, poor education and lack of Health Literacy may block access to healthcare.&nbsp; A homeless person may not seek healthcare due to fear of being judged.<br><br>Opportunity: The opportunity to seek and access healthcare may be limited by unemployment and abject poverty.&nbsp; A Medicare card can be difficult to source and retain, and less Drs are bulk-billing clients in 2023.<br><br>Impacts and Outcomes:&nbsp; There is a seven-fold increase in mortality among the homeless (ABS).&nbsp; Sleeping rough often leads to skin infections, poor oral hygiene, and respiratory illnesses.&nbsp; Chronic diseases gain traction as few homeless people have the ability to attend follow-up appointments, nd some medications are too expensive.</div>]]></description>
