I'm leaving today for my trip all the way to the Gulf of Carpentaria. I'm leaving in about an hour and I'm all packed. I am going to start here in Sydney, then travel up to Boomi then to Mackay, then to the Gulf.
Its the end of the day now, I've started my travels and so excited and nervous and tired at the same time. Its been a long day-I've traveled around 50 kilometers up and I'm currently camping out in the bush. Kind of scary but I'll live, right?

33'36'47"S 150'56'25"E

Right now I am in Carnarvon park. I've been just looking around today, seeing everything I can. the gorge is beautiful, it has greens and flowers and its just so gorgeous. it is everything I've ever dreamed of. so far I've traveled around 1150km so I still have around 2550km left. I haven't faced any major problems yet except for a lot of mosquitos. There was some rain a few days ago but now the weather has completely changed, in other words, it's super hot. I hope I don't get too sunburnt. Also, it seems that I was bitten by a few spiders and a snake, but luckily the snake wasn't a poisonous snake, so I treated it myself and went to the doctors before I Left to make sure everything was okay. so far, so good.

24'48'08"S 147'12'11"E

I've walked here, all the way from Sydney, how crazy is that!! the only problem so far is that there are a few bluebottles along the beach, luckily I haven't been stung by one yet.
I have to leave here very soon so I'm enjoying the cool, fresh ocean air while I'm here.

21'08'39"S 149'10'00"E

I MADE IT! I'm in the Gulf of Carpentaria and I can literally step one meter and be in northern territory and then step back and be in Queensland. It's GREAT. I'm so proud of myself for making it this far. It was a struggle at some points, but I got through it. I'm so relieved and happy that I've done this. This has been such a great experience and adventure for me and I think it has been my favorite so far. I loved seeing the bush change from city to country to forest, it has really broadened my horizon. Next, I'm going to do something bigger. Africa maybe? Aha. I can't wait to see everyone again, I can't wait to see their faces when they realize I'm alive. This has been the best adventure of my life and I do not regret any part of it.

16'32'41"S 138'00'04"
