1. Describe the economic, political, and social conditions that gave rise to the French Revolution. (i.e. inequality among the estates, corrupt leaders, rise in Enlightenment ideas among the bourgeoise, unfair tax system)

The cause of the uprising of the French Revolution was the fact that the people were tired of what was going on. They had a weak ruler that did not do anything but put them into more and more debts and did not even know how to govern the country and did not pay attention to his advisers. Not to mention the fact that King Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette kept putting the country into more debt, with borrowing money for wars that they were not in to unreasonable spending. Last of all there was the the fact that the lower class mostly sustained the country by paying taxes that were not fair to them and the price of the bread going up.

The American and French Revolution were the same because they both wanted to take away power from the kings because they did not treat them fairly, in the French Revolution it was King Louis XVI and in the American Revolution it was the British King. The difference is that the people that wanted to be treated fairly in the American Revolution were not British people, but wanted to be treated the same as them and in the French Revolution it was France's citizens that wanted to be treated equally
