Definition:
The Appeal to Authority red flag includes claims that something is true just because someone of higher authority says it's true, without presenting actual evidence.

Connection:
The following video uses humor to distract from its claims that 4/5 dentists recommend its product. In reality every oral hygiene product seems to be recommended by a ratio of dentists without actual statistics being provided.

Most people don't want logically thought out statements on certain topics, they just want simple answers that they can agree with. Even if the simple answer is a Red Herring designed to distract from the real issue.

Black Lives Matter was created to raise awareness of the many killings of black people with no justice served to the murderers. All Lives Matter was created as a counter argument to Black Lives Matter showing that we should be looking at the immoral killings of all people. Some say this is another form of racism designed to deviate from the point that Black Lives Matter is trying to make.
