It allowed students to have a basic structure or idea to springboard from when devising their own performances and lessened the instances of performance reluctance.

It is also a differentiation tool as students can show their understanding/ contribution in multiple forms.

This has allowed more time for practical application of skills. I have used this in Grade 9 and 10 Drama to have students understand the historical forms, before putting these into practice.

year 7 DRA had MBR come in and run a number of master classes related to using iMovie and it made the process of filming their melodramas much smoother in the editing phase.
