Human dignity is the same for all human beings: when I trample on the dignity of another, I am trampling on my own - Pope Francis - This quote strikes me since it it tells us that everyone has human dignity, we all have the right to be treated with respected and valued, but when we disrespect and discriminate others, we are affecting the victims and ourselves. First of all, we ruin our own human dignity since we become inhuman by treating others inhumane, we also ruin the way our society perceives others by telling them if we can violate their human dignity, anyone can, this will then lead to the standard and normalization of violating the human dignity of others including yourself.

"Human dignity is the same for all human beings: when I trample on the dignity of another, I am trampling on my own." Pope Francis. This is the quote that struck me the most because I genuinely believe that everyone is equal and being a human itself is someone with dignity. With that said, when we violate someone else's dignity we are slowly corroding ourselves as well because of how we disregard their rights and dignity knowing that we are all equal and fair.

“No power on this earth can destroy the thirst for human dignity.” by Nelson Mandela. Human rights are vital because they are justified by respect for human dignity; when societies are unfair and discrimination is commonplace, people are divided and assigned values based on factors like class, gender, and religion. The quote suggests that no matter where we are or go, we should constantly remember that everyone has human dignity that needs to be maintained; when the time comes when a person's or group's human dignity is compromised, or worse, violated, we should all stand together.

"Human dignity demands courage to defend oneself." - Mahatma Gandhi

"Having dignity demands courage to defend oneself." a quote from Mahatma Gandhi has been stuck in my head for the past hour, I was unsure how I can give justice to this statement. Recently, human rights has been a huge topic on whether a person deserves this, or that; human dignity may require moments of your life to defend yourself, and fight for your rights since not everyone receive the same equal rights they deserve.

I chose this quote because this quote tells us how human dignity is same for everyone. No matter what status someone may have, if they’re rich or they’re poor, we all have the same human dignity. What makes it more impactful is the line that follows it which says that if we trample on someone else’s dignity, we’re trampling on our own. This world is a very selfish world with selfish people who always only thinks about themselves but this quote tells us to be more careful if we’re hurting other people ‘s dignity because it’s equivalent to us hurting our own dignity.

No matter what a person's sins, work, beliefs, race, gender or political views are, they deserve to be treated with respect and love. It might be hard for us to accept the differences that keeps others away from us but let us remember that we are all similar to the image of God, therefore everyone is worthy of honor and respect because of our human dignity.

This is the quote I chose because everyone is equal, rich or poor, we all have human dignity, and this cannot be changed. Another reason I chose this is because of the lines "When I trample on the dignity of another, I am trampling on my own," which is incredibly meaningful since it says that when we trample on the dignity of others, we also trample on our own.

This quote mainly focuses on giving the same equal respect and decency to every human being as we are all created in God’s image and likeness. Hence, it is universal that all humans deserve to be treated equally with our inherent dignity as part of Church building.
