Market context

It is about supply and demand in the market context in urban area. It need to be balance towards a better city's growth. It involves both public and private sector, and at the end of the day, both area benefit to the public.

Role of urban designer is to motivate consumption and circulation of capital. Operations of market; i. Competition among the supplier and ii. Choice by the consumer. Having a competitive supplier and smart consumer will ensure a better living and productive market environment.

2. Regulatory context

Its all about the layers of government that have autonomy (power) in their own area. The key is to have a balance relationship between public and private sector.

In Malaysia, there is a Three-tier Government system; i. Federal, State and Local Government. Each bodies has their own roles and responsibility towards enabling the acts and policies that rule by the top-tier government. They got the capital through the tax, rents, licenses and etc. The more developed and huge are coverage by the local authority, the more income (capital) that they can collect and use for the management, improvement and maintenance for the particular area.

Conclusion:
Both Market and Regulatory context is relatable and have a major influence in determining the rapid growth of a city in terms of economy and social well being. As we can see nowadays, the pandemic Convid-19 in the world have different approaches by the countries according to the capital stability, population density and roles of related authority in cater the situation. So, please be grateful as we live in our country named Malaysia.
