Response to Just Listen

When reading Just Listen there was many things that I came across with such as things that I like vs things that I found where very interesting. Things that I did not like was how the main character acted very selfish and felt the need that she was better than every one else. It made me feel like it's not right for her to have an opinion like that not knowing what others go through. What I liked most about the book was the face that she begin to learn not to depend on herself. The most interesting part was when someone she thought was lower than her confronted her about a issue and as being the "perfect girl" she didn't know what to do. One thing I was able to connect with was the main character Annabel was very outgoing when it came to many activities around her school, she wasn't scared to try out.

I believe the book cover doesn't explain what's happening in the book at all because the main character went through a lot within in the book. The fact that they opened up the book with describing Annabel talents and how she thinks, I believe they should included a picture of that because that takes a good part with how she treats herself vs how other treat her.

"I wasn't ready for this, but then I probably never would be, and this year, like so much else, wouldn't wait. I had no choice but to get out of my car , with everyone watching , and begin it in earnest, alone. So I did."
This quotes shows her going into school by her self instead of any new friends or new people on her side.
"My dad, though, felt it was time to trust Whitney with more responsibility. She'd never be independent if my mother kept hovering, he said, and they'd only be gone for two days."
This quote reminds me of my parents when it comes to living with them and letting them trusting me.
"They were supposed to be best friends . I guess you can't trust nobody"
I choose this quote because I feel it connects a lot with life today.
