Welcome to Master Class: Foundations For Excellence in Teaching online! I am an instructor at Bahir Dar University. I have been working as a certified Lead Facilitator to support our participants, observers, and co-teachers. I have a master's degree in Educational Psychology. As a member of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences and an Assistant Professor in Psychology, I have been teaching psychology, educational assessment, and measurement. I have also been a coordinator, Leader, and tutor in the Higher Diploma program. The HDP aims to acquire pedagogical knowledge and understand learners' psychology and action research skills.  I enjoy teaching, writing, and participating in community issues. I'm excited to learn more about you and support you on your journey in e-learning, mainly the Technological-pedagogical aspects of online learning.

Hello, I’m Eyayu Genet, a visual artist and lecturer at Bahir Dar University, Institute of Land Administration (ILA), Department of Architecture. My works, including Sugypia and Kenepia, contribute to art diplomacy and have been exhibited in the USA, Sweden, Qatar, France, Switzerland, Uganda, Kenya, and South Korea.

I’ve organized exhibitions in Bahir Dar, opened an art gallery, and continue to provide volunteer art training. My public art projects, such as the Wisdom Lady painting for the head of Bahir Dar University and the relief designs at the university headquarters, reflect my dedication to both the university and the community.

Honored with a lifetime award for my contributions to Ethiopian art, I invite you to explore my journey and connect through art.

My research focuses on community-directed interventions for major health challenges in Ethiopia and across Africa. Beyond my academic and professional engagements, I enjoy reading spiritual and historical books, traveling across Ethiopia, and exploring cultural and religious sites. Additionally, I have experience in online teaching and learning. I am dedicated to improving child health outcomes through evidence-based practice, public health initiatives, and innovative healthcare solutions.

I am Alemayehu Golla from BahirDar Institute of Technology, Faculty of Civil and Water Resources Engineering. I got my BSc degree from Bahir Dar University with civil engineering and my MSc degree with structural engineering from Addis Ababa University. I have been a staff member at Bahir Dar University and participated in different regional and nation construction projects in design and construction professional services  as different stakeholder role involvement. I have limited experience of delivering with a similar plat form. I hope this opportunity would add value for the state of the art to be used as a means of delivering courses on a larger scale.

My research focuses on groundwater exploration using geophysical techniques in arid and semi-arid regions. I am passionate about discovering hidden earth resources that hold economic value for humanity, particularly in extracting and supplying clean water to rural communities. This mission is both my daily practice and a long-term commitment.

I actively use open-source computational tools and climate and water resource data to contribute to sustainable economic development. My expertise includes groundwater exploration, water well drilling, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) projects, hydrochemistry, and isotopic utilization. I have worked on various projects across Ethiopia, including the semi-desert regions of the Somali Regional State.

Some of my research and project contributions include:  Clean drinking water supply for Bahir Dar University (BDU) from Sebatamit, Water bottling initiatives for Mogdel rural villages’ clean water supply, Dengeshita BDU Community Service Project, Contributions to the Blue Nile Water Institute of BDU for research and grant development.

In addition to my academic work, I have over six years of experience in online learning from leading global universities through platforms such as edX, Coursera, Udemy, Udacity, and Alison. I am also passionate about the digital world, continuously upskilling in areas like Python programming, digital marketing, and e-commerce, alongside my professional courses.

My hobby is exploring nature, conserving it, and capturing its beauty through photography. I enjoy sharing my photos with others who admire and appreciate the wonders of nature.

I am excited to join the "Master Class: Feb 2025 A – Foundations for Excellence in Teaching", which I believe will greatly enhance my online teaching knowledge and skills. I look forward to applying these insights to my future online courses and collaborating with all of you.

I am Yalelet Tadesse Mtiku from Bahir Dar University, Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. I have graduate from Bachelor degree and MSc. from Bahir Dar University in Industrial Engineering (Program of production Engineering and management).

Currently, I am working in Industrial Engineering department one the staff members and thoughts different courses.

I work as an Assistant professor of International Relations, Department of Political Science and International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Bahir Dar University. I am working as a teacher since 2010. Besides, Teaching I have been serving the university in different capacities. Currently, I work as vice dean for postgraduate, Research and community Services, faculty of Social Sciences, Bahir Dar University. I also worked as course Chair and Department Head starting from 2017.  My Research area of interest includes Water governance, political Economy, Peace and Conflict studies, Human Rights and International Cooperation. I published more than 10 articles in reputable journals. My hobbies include reading books, swimming, watching football and so on.
