John terry faced a 4 game ban for racially abuse Anton Ferdinand 7 years ago. This caused a massive stir due to the media not fully understanding what John Terry said, after months of speculation Terry was found of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, this didn’t have a big impact on Anton Ferdinand but it impacted the kick it out campaign due to a former England captain abusing another player. Anton’s brother Rio publicly called put Terry for the abuse and that the ban should be extended. 
The verdict released by the FA said: "The Football Association charged Mr Terry on Friday 27 July 2012 with using abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards Queens Park Rangers' Anton Ferdinand and which included a reference to colour and/or race contrary to FA Rule E3 in relation to the Queens Park Rangers FC versus Chelsea FC fixture at Loftus Road on 23 October 2011."

Terry will have 14 days from receiving the written reasons to decide whether to lodge an appeal. The ban and fine will not come into effect until after the centre-half has decided what to do.

Troy Denney and other players received racist abuse on social media. 

He deleted the comments as He felt awful as he has younger followers and those seeing the racial comments were unfair and wrong. 

Kick it out tried to share the story around social media platforms such as twitter, Facebook and Instagram to see if it would reach out to the owner of the companies and they can take a more serious action to stop vicious people online. This didn’t work and Danny Rose (England defender) after hearing the story said he was frustrated at the lack of action taken to prevent this.

What happened? 

The fans of Cagliari were monkey chanting at Moise Kean throughout the game, Kean later on scored the winner in the game which resulted in him celebrating in front the Cagliari fans encouraging more abuse. 

How did it impact the players? 

It didn’t have an impact on him as he is strong willed 

Were there any repercussions? 

They weren’t fined 

Was this effective? 

No because it doesn’t stop them from doing it again 

Raheem Sterling: Racism in Football 

In a euro qualifier between England and Montenegro Raheem sterling, danny rose and callum Hudson odoi were all victim of monkey chants throughout the game from the Montenegro fans. It didn’t seem to effect the players at the time but after the game all of the England voiced their displeasure and anger towards what their teams mates were victim to. Sterling scored in the game and celebrated in front of the Montenegro fans as a way of getting back at them. As a result of this Montenegro were made to pay a fine of £17,000 and informed that they would have to play a game behind close doors 

Kalidou Koulibaly received two yellow cards in Napoli’s defeat at the San Siro to Inter Milan on the 26^th December 2018. During the time where he was on the pitch, Koulibaly received monkey chants from the home fans and they continued as he made his walk of the pitch, resulting in him applauding to the home fans in article above. Koulibaly took this absue badly and it was reported that he shed tears in the changing rooms. 

Footballers all over the world shown their support on social media sites such as Instagram, stating their feelings for the situation and how it has no place in football. Napoli manager, Carlo Ancelotti, also stated in his press conference after the match threatened to make his teams walk off the pitch if it occurred again. During the game, Ancelotti wanted the game stopped for the abuse and asked three times and no action was taken and play proceeded. 

This was not very effective despite the large amount of support Koulibaly received as there was another incident in Italy not long after with Juventus star Moise Kean.
