         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.Women took on many different roles in the Revolutinary war. Some were traditional while some were unconventional and even scandalous for the time.<br>2. The Indians sided with Britian because they promised their land would be safe from the Americans. After the war the Indians lost all of their land to the settlers.<br>3.&nbsp;British officials were reluctant to arm blacks, but as early as 1775, Virginia's royal governor, Lord Dunmore, established an all-black "Ethiopian Regiment" composed of runaway slaves. By promising them freedom , Dunmore enticed over 800 slaves to escape from "rebel" masters.</div>]]></description>

They had to choose between loyalist and patriot cause or somehow maintain a neutral stance. Also they sided with the British and ended up losing.<br>3. They won their freedom and others were victims, but throughout the struggle blacks refused to be mere bystanders and gave their loyalty to the side that seemed to offer the best prospect for freedom. </div>]]></description>
