Your local council has asked the neighbours to contribute with ideas to make your area safer and wants to hear your concerns and suggestions for future regulations.
In groups of five, you will represent one of the following groups: the elderly, the young, families with children and bar owners.
Each group must express their concerns and defend their interests regarding the council's request.
You will have to work collaboratively by creating a Padlet wall on which, along the following two weeks, you contribute with ideas, links and comments that show your research and personal work on the subject.
The final product must be a presentation that includes five written extracts (about 150 words each), which should be formal, since you are addressing the council, and summarise the main arguments in your group. Some illustrations or links should be included to make it more attractive. Remember you will be evaluated both individually and as a team, and therefore you must show interaction in the production of your work.
In the last session, you will present it in front of the class, each member speaking for about one minute, and then be ready for the questions that the class and the teacher will ask you. A peer evaluation rubric will be used by the members of the other groups to assess your performance.
You should work as a team and defend your position with strong and well-documented arguments that show cooperation.
